  1. Qobuz is ok for casual listening or background music but the SQ can't match streaming FLAC or DSD files from a NAS via Roon.
  2. PCs and crApple Mac Minis are not audio devices and they were not designed to be audio components. Buy a purpose-built streamer/bridge and get all of that noise and jitter out of your system. If you use a good streamer/bridge you don't need other devises and additional cables in your signal path that are trying to clean up the garbage you're dumping into your digital signal path from your PC/MAC. What's the point of upgrading your DAC if you're using a shit source?
  3. You lost me when you said you're using a crApple Mac Mini as a source. I you don't have a proper, purpose-built network bridge/streamer you shouldn't be reviewing DACs or file-based audio at all.
  4. Thx, after 4 hours of troubleshooting and guess-work thx to the lack of documentation I have it working. I've used numerous streamers over the last few years, including the Auralic Aries G1 which I thought this SSR_SE might replace, and none of them were this use-unfriendly. Christ, if I didn't have a working knowledge of networks I would have never been able to get this working. Thx for your input.
  5. I bought a used Sonore Signature Rendu SE with the optical input. I just received it about an hour ago and was terribly excited about getting it hooked up and listening to it. Well, I'm frustrated as hell because I can't see it on my network and the documentation and support, both on Small Green Computers and Sonore sites, is nearly non-existent. It boggles the mind that a company would sell a component for nearly $4k and provide no documentation or support. Am I really suppose to search thru user forums looking for answers? This may have been a mistake..............Arthur Ott
  6. Hello. I'm interested in these switches if they're still available. Thx............Arthur
  7. That's another plus for the Auralic G1, they've built a quality LPS right into the unit.
  8. Yes, I have compared both. To get the same SQ from a Sonore product as the Auralic Aries G1 you'd have to go to the Signature Rendu SE.
  9. I think the sound quality would be significantly better if you go with Option 4 instead of Option 3.
  10. What inputs does it have? I'd like to see photos of the rear of the unit and some reviews.
  11. How do you know what boxes it checks? Their website is pretty short on details.
  12. Hello, I am interested in this Power Supply if it's still available. Thx...........Arthur
  13. Talk about going back in time 15 years! Click on the link to Sonore's terrible website. They expect you to buy their $3445 Signature Rendu SE optical based on one low-res picture of the front of the unit. No picture of the rear of the unit and the connectivity. Yes, that website is a real blast from the past as it looks like it was designed by a high school kid in 2004.
