  1. The expert on McIntosh / Sonus Faber systems is . Google 'Youtube Alberto de Roma' and you will find a set of instructional videos on how to build the perfect McIntosh / Sonus Faber system. You can also find more information on his website at http://albertosaudioblog.blogspot.com/ .
  2. Newfoundland based Aurum Acoustics (that's why you've never heard of them) makes the Integris Active 300B which uses vacuum tube technology to power its loudspeakers. http://www.aurumacoustics.com/integris_300B.html
  3. $350.00 for 'Most Beautiful Sound Audio Grade USB Cable'...just like it says on the red label. A real gem.
  4. It really serves to show how bad it's gotten. There are young audiophiles who listen to nothing but this sort of music and wonder if an expensive vacuum tube amplifier will get them more authentic sound, closer to the real music. It's a hopeless thought. It must take balls as a recording engineer to so blatantly and consistently run it into the red like that...Like a race car driver smashing into the wall on every turn.
  5. Clipping is better shown using the waveform mode. The graphic looks ridiculous using waveform mode. Here's 'Jerk It Out' in spectrum mode.
  6. Lady Gaga - Just Dance The Clip-O-Meter parts are red The Sounds - Don't Want To Hurt You Yikes! Caesars Palace - Jerk It Out I am speechless...No, I did not Photoshop it!
  7. Which high-end brands appreciate in price after purchase or, at least, best retain their value.
  8. Revox no longer sells audio equipment in North America, just Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Would you know the reason for this? Thanks
  9. Thank you for your knowledge. I will refrain from digital processing of the 16-bit recordings I play back. So the trade-off for DRC (Digital Room Control) and other signal processing is having your collection of 16-bit Red Book recordings turned into 14-bit. I wonder if many are aware of this? Thanks again!
  10. Are the deleterious effects associated with digital control of level also present with digital equalization? Equalization is level control at various frequencies. Thanks,
  11. IT'S ALBERT COLLINS THAT SUCKS, NOT YOUR SYSTEM. GET RID OF ALBERT COLLINS. I REPEAT, IT'S ALBERT COLLINS THAT SUCKS, NOT YOUR SYSTEM.
  12. He can't hear the difference between DACs regardless of whether the switching is instantaneous or over a long period of listening. To solve the problem, I would suggest an ear transplant...two in fact. It is important for you choose the proper ears. Do not, for example, choose the ears of Beethoven. They are readily available, but I suspect that is because he was actually deaf! As always, buyer beware.
  13. Might I suggest two (2) tesla coils wrapped around your house and a tin foil cap for your head. This will solve your EMI problems.
