  1. For an audiophile system with voice control, can't you use a Bluesound Node 2i with digital output to an external DAC which feeds your stereo? You can then use Google Assistant or Alexa to choose a song to play on the Node 2i. I would assume that Tidal Connect to the Node 2i could be controlled with Google Assistant and Alexa as well.
  2. Is it possible to use this not as a network streamer but only as a Dirac Live processor? For example, use an opticalRendu for network streaming and then connect its USB output to the input of the SHD Studio in order to get Dirac processing. And then have the SHD Studio's output feed a DAC. If anyone has done something like this, could you please describe the change in sound quality?
  3. One of the stated purposes of the new site name is to draw in more people. I think that the Audiophile Five would be a great vehicle for a series of tutorials. Some ideas off the top of my head would include: - what is a NAS? - what is the difference between a streamer, network bridge, network audio player, network bridge, etc.? - how to set up a home system - what is a SFP? - what is a digitial to digital converter? - what is the difference between USB, SPDIF, etc? - what is the difference between balanced and unbalanced connections? I've really enjoyed the series thus far. Great job!
  4. I own the original Rendu and think it is outstanding. I would love to hear about the sound quality differences between it and the Signature version.
