As I wrote in my original post, I am happy with the sound coming from my SACD and tuner - just not my audio pc. And my speakers are just fine (Klipsch RB-61 and Velodyne 15" sub). So adding a new DAC or speakers wouldn't solve my problem!? But I'll definitely look into building a CAPS. Looks intriguing...

Howdy All! My system: Lenovo pc -> Asus Xonar (192/24) -> Cadras coaxial -> Grant Fidelity DAC-09 -> Xiang Sheng 728a preamp -> Music Angel -800MKIII amp I run the Lenovo headless, with a stripped down O/S (XP), only running IE and JRiver. I remote into the Lenovo to start up JRiver using RDP on my laptop. The Levovo is on its last legs. I'm finding the CPU seems to always be pinned at 100%!? And I'm hearing popping sounds when I play music (that I don't hear when I listen to SACD's or the tuner). So before I go out and simply replace the Lenovo with another pc, I'd like to hear some alternate suggestions from others on these forums! What say ye, fellow CA'ers?
