  1. My new system is a laptop running JRiver 19 through a HiFace2 SPDIF connection into an Emotiva UMC-200. Can anyone tell me if FLAC's would sound better using a flash drive into the USB connection of an Oppo BD-103? I'm asking because JRiver+Hiface2+SPDIF cable = about as much as an Oppo costs, with the Oppo having the added benefit of playing Blu-Rays and network streaming.
  2. Thank you thrand1. And everybody else too! Amazon carries both the HiFace Two and Musical Fidelity VLINK192. It's shootout time. Thanks again!
  3. Really? 96 views and no replies? I'm obviously confused and trying to understand what to do next. I came here, read a lot, and asked for help. Guess not.
  4. Hi All, First post. I've read a bunch of posts here and I'm now more confused. For the moment, I don't have a CD/DVD player. My choices for playing music are: My laptop - I have a Toshiba Satellite running Windows 7 and I have a bunch of FLAC's on the hard drive. My iPhone 4 - I bought the Emotiva Bluetooth adapter BTA-1 and I know how to convert FLAC's to Apple Lossless. I'm not afraid to spend a bit more money, but I'm not sure what path to take. Thank You!
