WMP is bad software for playing WAV files. MusicBee, Aimp, Foobar and Winamp are some of free audio players that works perfectly for WAV files.

The only real difference between audio players is his "Internal Processing". For example: J river is more powerfull than Foobar for doing any kind of internal processing (Volume, room correction, resample...)
