  1. Ahem....no, I'm afraid you still mixing something up, or it's me who does not understand: When you got a PS3, updated to a Official Firmware from Sony (OFW) higher than 3.55, than there is now way to donwgrade with just an USB-stick or somethin like that! You have to open it, and access the flash-ic(s) with hardware!! NO OTHER WAY. It comes even worse when you get a PS3 that when it was sold by Sony the lowest installed firmware was > than 3.55, because than there is no chance, with no hardware, and not to mention software. So, your PS3 has had to be once in it's lifetime on <=3.55 (as far as I understood, I am noob, too). The rebug-firmware (of course, it's no official firmware from sony (OFW), it's a custom firmware (CFW) home-brewed by freaks) is one CFW among many others and it comes only into a system that is/was prepared like mentioned before: at the time flashed must have had the state of official firmware <=3.55. Either the PS3 wasn't ever updated with Sony >3.55 or ist must also have been prepared by hardware! So, to make it again clear: when we are talking about a softwaredowngrader, than we are talking about using it in the situation of an already jailbroken device!! As long as you move between home-breewed firmware of course you can down- and upgrade as long as you have fun with it (and don't brick your console). Ok? There still is no easy/magic way to get a PS3 from the OFW >3.55 down, only talking about CFW. I hope I wrote enough about that. Sorry, in case I missunderstood you, it's likely because what I wrote was mentioned so many times here in the thread, that I am more in doubt it's me, than it' you.... BrandonQuest
  2. He meant downgrading via software from a custom firmware (CFW)!! If you have an original firmware >3.55, than there is no way to go back without at least open your PS3 (if anyway)! The base for messing arround with CFWs is always a <=3.55! Brandon Quest
  3. Hi, thanks for reply. I know how to downgrade :-) The point was, how to keep the ability to play actual games and habe SACD-ripper running? But maye it is a problem of the recent version of rebug, because I can't play SACD anymore. error 80029bc1 :-( best regards BrandonQuest
  4. Hello, I am a bit disappointed (for the moment), but it's my fault. Did all to get my PS3 most recent, but what I might have overlooked is: sacd-ripper really works only in a CFW 3.55 version (I thougt it was mentioned only because of outdated tutorials and also for pointing out the downgrade problems for OFW>3.55)? Before I realized, today I upgrated from 3.55 OFW to 4.46.1 rebug CFW. SACD-Ripper quits after execution with error 80010017. So, what is necessary to do from my point of state. I am about to downgrade again, than install otheros++ (is it the same as otheros?), than upgrade to rebug 4.46.1. Will this work for SACD-Ripper? What I simply want to have: the most recent CFW for playing games (I haven't yet, but I have some I want to try) and be able to run SACD-Ripper. For what reason is otheros necessary. On the SACD-ripper project page it's mentioned every CFW will work (besides the version (?), see my question above). Which whay/steps to achieve my needs would you suggest. I will wait for answers until I might ran into more trouble. Thanks and best regards BrandonQuest
  5. Hello Ted_b, I ONLY :-) bought a PS3, bought everything for downgrading it, had weeks of headache during downgrade just to be able now to ask you for your package, thank you! BrandonQuest
