  1. No I do not leave mine on 24/7 but an idea would be to put it on your UPS for your computer on one of the switched outlets that turns on when your computer is on. Or on a switched outlet or switched powerbar. The Pi will not be hurt from Hard boots it is not brickable. Everything resides on the SD cards OS.
  2. RaspyFi - Pi never sounded so good! is the software and there is full documentation to get the install created and setup. The developer is great to he helped me get things going since the Explorer was not yet on the list of supported DAC's
  3. Running Raspyfi on the Raspberry Pi. Using a Meridian Explorer to my home gear. $350 Media Server. LOVE IT!
