  1. I have Audiolinux 4.9.0 up and running on an i7 9700k with 32GB of 3600mhz RAM. I have Roon and HqPlayer Desktop installed and running but I can't seem to get DSD256 ASDM7EC to stream to an NAA without stutters and dropouts. I can stream DSD256 ASDM7 no problem so It's not a network issue. I had the same hardware streaming DSD256 ASDM7EC in Windows 10 so I know the hardware can handle it. Does anyone know if there are BIOS or settings in Audiolinux that I need to change to get this working? Thanks!
  2. I'm having the same issue as OP with Audio Linux and an i7 9700k. I can stream DSD256 ASDM7 to an NAA no problem, but ASDM7EC causes stutters and dropouts. Had no problem with Windows 10 and the same hardware. Would your solution apply to Audio Linux as well? I'm running the desktop version of HQPlayer and Audio Linux (LXQT).
  3. I wonder if this has anything to do with the USB issues AMD announced recently. I'm using x570 mobo and have a 3080 running PCIE gen 4. Seems like this combination has created issues with USB DACs. https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-admits-there-are-problems-with-usb-devices-on-500-series-motherboards I'll try some BIOS settings to see if I can figure it out.
  4. Couple questions I hope are relevant to this topic. I recently built a new PC with a AMD 5900X, Nvidia RTX 3080, and Windows 10 Pro. I have CUDA offload checked but I still get random pauses upsampling to DSD256 and ASDM7EC. Is this to be expected? I'm considering using an i7 9700k in an HDPlex H3 case to upsample to DSD256 and ASDM7EC using Audiolinux lxqt and HQPlayer Desktop. Does the HDPlex H3 have enough passive cooling for this hardware/software combination? Thanks!
  5. I think I know the answer here, but is it possible to convert a desktop license into an embedded license?
  6. I’m looking into building a headless audio server and looking at Audiolinux. I have an HQPlayer desktop license and use Roon to manage/serve my music. Hardware will be i7 9700k and 32GB of 3600mhz ram. I would be upsampling to DSD256 ASDM7EC. Can I use the headless version of Audiolinux or does the Desktop HQPlayer license require the lxqt version? Are there any advantages to the headless version of Audiolinux that I would be missing out on? Thanks!

    HQ Player

Went back to Catalina and all is good again. I'll stay away from the betas for a while. Thanks for all the help, especially as it was a beta!

    HQ Player

I think it's some sort of USB issue. I tried playing HQPlayer out of the internal speakers and it worked, but I can't get it to work on the three USB DACs I tried. Roon has no problem playing on the DACs on the same machine. Weird. I guess that's why they call it a beta.

    HQ Player

I'm not using an NAA. The DAC (Topping D90 MQA) is attached to the computer running HQPlayer. I checked Audio MIDI Setup and the DAC is not the default output. I don't see any other apps running in the Activity Monitor that could be interferring with HQPlayer.

    HQ Player

And here's a snippet from the log if that gives you any clues.

    HQ Player

Checked the output device in system preferences and the DAC is not set as the default. I checked and HQPlayer has access to the microphone.

The status bar alternates between # CoreAudio output StartOnDemand(): clCoreAudioEngine::Start(): AudioDeviceStart() and Processing Time: 0:06.402 (m:s:ss)

    HQ Player

FYI for those early adopters, it looks like the macOS Big Sur beta doesn’t get along with HQPlayer. When I try to play a track it looks like it wants to start but then stops. Weird thing is I initially installed the beta as an update to Catalina and HQPlayer worked, but when I did a fresh install, I now can’t seem to get it to work. Curious to hear if anyone has better luck.

    HQ Player

I'm looking for some help setting up a Roon and HQplayer system. My setup is a Synology NAS with Roon Core installed and a desktop PC with an i7 9700k with USB output to a Topping D90/A90 stack. My plan is to have the Roon Core remain on the NAS and install HQPlayer on the PC. I would like to upsample to DSD 256 and use convolution for AutoEQ wav files for my headphones. I can install HQPlayer on either Windows 10 or macOS. Is one better than the other for my setup? Can HQPlayer output DSD 256 natively in macOS? Does it matter if it's native or DOP for the D90? AutoEQ has 44.1k and 48k stereo wav files for convolution. HQPlayer seems to require mono files. Will the stereo files work? If so, should I use 44.1k or 48k? Can you have more than one convolution setting in HQPlayer like the presets in Roon? Are these the correct/preferred settings to output DSD 256 to the D90 in macOS?
  15. I recently purchased an HQPlayer license and I would like to update the NAA installation in an Auraliti PK90. Does anyone know how I would go about doing that? Would I be able to do it in an SSH session? I've emailed Auraliti a few times recently, but I haven't received a response. If anyone reading this knows the SSH username and password for the Auraliti I would love a PM. Thanks.
