  1. Such a modified Mytek is presently being auctioned off on ricardo.ch.
  2. Have you tried setting Bitstream to "none"? That's how it works in my case. Remember, you are sending DoP. My Mytek tells me it's receiving DSD data.
  3. I don't know if this helps you, but on my Mac mini, going via FW into the Mytek, I only have to change one simple setting to upsample to DSD: Tools > Options > Audio > Settings > DSP & Output format. I change Output Encoding from "None" to "DSD in DoP format". The option "2xDSD . . ." does not work at all, by the way. You might need to restart JRiver. After that, the Mytek display will show DSD coming in.
  4. You certainly need to turn on the Mytek before you start the software that is supposed to make contact with it.
  5. For all you Harmony Remote Control users out there: After much prodding and email traffic, Logitech has finally added the Mytek remote codes to their database. On MyHarmony.com, you look for Mytek Digital. If using the Logitech Harmony Remote Software, you'll find it under: Amplifiers -> Mytek Digital -> Stereo192-DSD DAC.
  6. As far as I can tell, turning the gain control while in BYPASS mode doesn't affect the signal at all. Which is the way it should be.
  7. I asked Mytek for the HEX codes of those eight RC 5 functions that are supported by their DAC. I then provided Logitech with that information. They defined a new device for my Harmony account and had me test the settings. It works, I'm now able to manipulate the DAC entirely from my remote. Hopefully they will add it now to their database so every Harmony user will have access to it. You need to set the DAC to RC 5 mode, address 16.
  8. Yes, I did. After talking to Mytek, I changed the jumpers forth and back while playing music. This way I could hear any difference right away. There are two jumpers per channel, each jumper is supposed to do -3db. This time, I did hear a difference, but it is still small. It enables me to raise the volume gain from maybe 8:30 to 9:15/9:30 o'clock. Not that much after all! I guess, it depends on your preamp. YMMW.
  9. Could it be they're not working in bypass mode (which makes no sense to me)?
  10. Well, I did set the jumpers to achieve just that: a higher gain control setting on the pre, since my volume knob is usually between 8 and 9 o'clock and I would like it to be at around 11 0'clock. So I listened to the loudness before and after setting those jumpers, and guess what? It hardly made a difference. I had to adjust the volume just a tad, if at all (drawing on memory without a measuring device) to get the same loudness. Maybe those jumpers don't work at all?
  11. As long as you are using not more than three functions, one single key will do. Just keep pressing the same key twice in a row if necessary.
  12. That's what I found out too, no accessing the menu. And additionally, you would need the function "press volume knob" to effect any changes. So, in the end I'm at least able to change the source remotely. Thank you again. The Apple remote codes can certainly be used. I'm employing a Mac Mini in my home stereo setup and am using the 6 different functions the Apple remote offers. Logitech has them listed in their database.
  13. I thought of one more thing: Since you only defined one function each, you might not notice. Every pressing of either key simply toggles the two functions. Try pressing the same key twice in a row, you might see both functions. And since you weren't changing the source input, you never ran into any problems.
  14. Maybe this only happens when you try to define sources on both keys. I defined two sources on FN1, FireWire and Toslink. Pressing the FN2 key will then give me the exact same result. Changing one source on FN2 will also change it on FN1. Anyway, Mytek will fix this problem in a future firmware release, that's what I was told.
  15. Hi Synfreak Thank you for that info. I've set up the Loewe Remote on my Harmony and it kinda works. I found the volume controls (directionLeft and directionRight) as well as the FN1 key (key #2). There is a mute function on key #3. That's all. If I could find the menu key, my needs would be covered. So, which button do you press on your Loewe remote to get the Mytek menu?
