  1. I quote myself with what I use today. You who have upgraded to ma 1 V2, how do you find it better now compared with V1?
  2. I use Nordost Heimdall USB cable, this and Vertere Pulse R are the best I have tried. I wonder how the new Nordost Tyr USB sounds but it is very expensive.
  3. Did you install as administrator? Right click on the install file and choose "install as administrator". That should work.
  4. Yes it is a bit confusing, I have the first version of ma-1 with updated firmware to "DAT2" which had 2 versions depending on serial number. Now the new V2 of ma-1 I presume there is an even newer firmware for V2 only. But the USB drivers for Windows works with all models if I am correct, it is version 3.30. I use it without problems so far. It sounds very good I think.
  5. I have not updated my ma-1 but now you can find the latest USB drivers for Windows on Meitners home page. I installed this and it works nicely, and it is free of charge.
  6. Interesting, I will probably contact my dealer for info, mine is a few years old too.
  7. I have a MFA Baby Reference preamp, a very clean/pure preamp . It can be bettered with an active preamp but you have to pay much much more to beat it. It is not perfect but I like it very much.
  8. More listening tonight, and I am confident my fancy power cord (very expensive) Isotek Elite is doing what I want. Maybe my dac is faulty but it for sure likes to be fed with "Champagne" . My power amp is not very picky it seems, it will do with "water". Must be a fabulous device.
  9. Have your fun, I am a grown up so I can handle it. I am not sure about other members....lol. I just want to get better sound from my system like every one else here. If you read my latest post I present some more impressions.
  10. I have listened more and found out(?) that on my power amp the difference is very small, so I can save money skipping a new cable on it. On the DAC it is an improvement I do like, so I will keep my Elite cable, the difference compared with Optimum is very small, a tiny bit cleaner and better transparency, maybe. I can also say that my initial impression was a bigger difference, so you have to compare many times to be sure. One other factor to consider is phase, I turned the plug on the DAC and sound changed a little, softer in one position which I kept, a bit edgy and hard in the other.
  11. I just can´t understand why it is so hard to accept the improvement I got? Instead you should try to explain why this is, if possible I can find a cheaper solution tog get the same good result. The reason for taking my time to post this is to get an explanation, and maybe someone else can try the same and get a better sounding system, what is wrong with that? I have no commercial interest in this and I do not care to convince anyone I am right. Grow up!
  12. Well I am just reporting what I hear, but sure I could be without the cost. What I am considering is that maybe a separate dedicated power line to my music gear would give a similar result without fancy power cables, but I can´t compare before I install one. My pre-amp is a passive Music First Baby Reference so it does not use a power cord .
  13. I have tried the Optimum now, my dealer said I should try it on the dac and use the Elite on my amplifier. Oh boy was he right! A gigantic leap in sound quality, me and a friend was a little stunned. I will probably have to buy the Optimum now...sigh. But what a sound..
  14. I will visit one of my dealers today and try the Isotek Optimum on my power amp.
