  1. Well, I can't believe what I just did worked. But now it's working correctly! If mods would like to delete this thread then that would be okay with me!
  2. Hi there! I'm new and I'm not that good at audio stuff. I have Windows 8 Pro, fully upgraded and I have the (Logitech z506 5.1 surround sound speakers) Logitech - Surround Sound Speakers Z506 , also the (Sabrent USB-SND8 7.1 surround sound external sound card) Amazon.com: Sabrent USB-SND8 8-Channel 3D USB 2.0 External 7.1 Surround Sound Box with Digital Output: Computers & Accessories. My motherboard is a MSI 760GM-P23(FX) (MS-7641). I've gone gung ho before on installing software and hardware without asking around on a forum. But this time I don't know what to Google so I'm asking for your guys' help. I have a Realtek onboard audio with 3 3.5 mm jacks. Thing is, the speakers do work but only in a 2.1 with those. Although I did get both back and center speakers to work for a very short period of time (can't remember how I did that; I do remember that there was a different screen and it asked what I plugged in and I just ignored it because I'm a fool sometimes :\). I tried that external sound card, it has all the right jacks that I need yet it still doesn't work with 5.1. I checked out a Creative external sound card and it's been out for awhile, it also had support for Windows 8 while the Sabrent card had support for Windows 7. I really don't want to spend my money on a new sound card but I will if I have to. Could someone please suggest a couple answers to troubleshooting this before I have to splurge on a new card?
