I couldn't agree more about the excellent service provided by T+A, in general, and Elliott Schultz, Southern Regional Sales Manager, T+A North America Inc, in particular.

T+A DAC 200 input names display
Allan F replied to Trebor17's topic in DAC - Digital to Analog Conversion
For those living in North America, the T+A programming adapter can be ordered through Elliott Schultz, Southern Regional Sales Manager, T+A North America Inc. He can be contacted at [email protected]. He quoted a price of $297Cdn for the device and "can also provide instructions to help you through it". However, he did offer the caveat that "I was informed that if you were to perform the firmware update on your own, there is an extremely small chance of 'bricking' your unit". I have decided not to order the adapter until firmware updates provide features or improvements that I need or would really like to have. As it is, the DAC 200 is an outstanding DAC that, with HQPlayer, provides truly excellent sound quality -

HiFi Privacy, Data, Groups ... and You May Be The Product

I suppose the above explains what I experienced. The Google result was more directly related to my specific query, which was of a somewhat local nature. I don't pretend to understand how Google's algorithm works. 🙂 -

Strange if it is, because it did not produce the same results as Google. -

Agreed. One need look no further than the reported cases of these companies producing different results from DNA samples submitted by identical twins, a genetic impossibility. -

I have no idea. Why not try to contact A&K to both express your concern about your experience, and to ask them if they offer a feature similar to Apple's? -
Audio Devices Collecting User Data
Allan F replied to The Computer Audiophile's topic in General Forum
Phoning home is a service that may be used to track lost or stolen mobile devices. However, its use should be at the option of the owner and not set as a default. Moreover, its use can be abused as a means to collect personal data. -

I have never signed up for Facebook because of privacy concerns, so that is not an issue for me. However, what pisses me off is the number of companies that have switched from using their own websites to forcing you to sign up to Facebook if you want to access their site information. Add to that how Facebook and Google encourage you to use them as logins so those behemoths can track your every move. -

Bandcamp was sold because "operating costs had increased significantly in recent years". In October, 2023, Songtradr, the new owner, announced that 50% of Bandcamp's employees would be laid off. A rep from Songtradr advised that, “We are committed to keeping the existing Bandcamp services that fans and artists love, including its artist-first revenue share, Bandcamp Fridays and Bandcamp Daily".
