  1. Hi, i'm new to this forum. just got the Creek Evo50a amp back home with low expectation due to unfavorable jcn3 experience with kef ls50. Same speaker as mine though. Then, yesterday, my country's Creek dealer have introductory promotion for Evo 50a during Kuala Lumpur International AV show and the price was below market which was around 500 BritPound(RM2450). i can't resist my temptation and grab this opportunity(or risk) and bought it. This Creek replaced my NAD C326BEE. I really like the combination of the 326BEE with ls50 and my source are mostly CD and via Audiolab 8200.This system capable of producing 3D like imaging and really good on jazz(Grover Washington jr. etc) and rock(acdc, floyd). But for modern music its lacking something then i mate it with REL t5 sub. Even though the sub integrated really well but i still feel this combination lack some omph, sometime made harsh sound on modern recording and made me searching for mid price amp.I have demoed the arcam a19,Roksan kandy K2 and all in one system Naim Unitilite. To be fair, arcam betters RK on widescreen presentation but dynamic is fair btw this 2. i fall in love with Naim due to its features and sound characteristic but the price is quite steep up from my budget so i hold back and wait for AV Show. Later on during AV show, things got quite complicated when Creek got a big discount. They demo the creek with Epos 5 during the show but its not quite as good compared with others in the show. In another room, KEF ls50 mate with nuForce integrated amp(3 times the price of ls50). The sound they produced was phenomenal. ls50 are really "something" and special speaker when supply it with good electronics. This shows that my system lack in that department and i made up my mine and bought the creek. if not satisfied, i would sell it without lost so much and bought naim kit. Then come the good part, unboxing and hook the creek with rest of my system. My mind says this might not work really well. Out of the box, it sounded different than Nad. In good way i mean. Bass, mid, treble all very smooth. I don't have good words to describe the sound but what i can tell, it seems every song i played through sounded very musical yet revealing.no hot treble,no thin sound,no harsh, full fat bass, very large soundstage, vocal phrasing is excellent regardless its male or female,3D imaging on par with Nad but most importantly its very balanced. i even not test it yet with REL sub turn on and really impressed with its performance so far..I try to locate its weakness...try other genre of song from jazz to rock, low volume and high volume.none.Made me hear through all my album for another 6hours.hehe. Indeed, its played really well on low volume(-40db) and excellent on loud volume(-20db).its runs as cool as Naim kit and even cooler then my audiolab 8200cd after 4 hours playing music which is a good thing. One thing initially bother me was the volume which need to be turned to almost half (-40db) for low listening level and -30db moderate and -20db loud.First i think, 50a is struggle to drive ls50 but then after quick view the manual, Creek advised not to worry if volume level approaching -0db for appropriate loadness because there are not the sign that the 50a is struggling. Its comes to output impedance of the source which is too low. All in all, i think i have made a right call to try this myself. btw, my LS50 is on speaker stand and my living room is quite large 20ftx18ft.
