I use stock W4S power supply. Music source is Intel DN2800MT motherboard USB port.

I have been listening to the W4S Recovery for a couple of weeks. I use an Ayre Codex and Audeze LCD-2 or Sennheiser 600 headphones, both with balanced cables. The Recovery provides enhanced resolution and detail. I recommend.

Bill, thanks for your efforts. I started following the Computer Audiophile forum several years ago, and found it very useful. In my opinion, the forum has steadily degenerated, and I no longer read it for information. It's like a bad soap opera, and I just can't make myself look away.

I've purchased several vortexboxes and computers from Small Green Computer. Andrew has provided excellent products and service.

Maelob, A couple of years ago, I switched from a Mac mini to one of Chris's C.A.P.S designs (Carbon v3). It was the best decision I ever made, both from an audio quality and hobbyist perspective. If you have the time to spend on it, I think Prot's suggestion is valid. If you want to stay in the MacOS realm, then obviously Prot's suggestion doesn't work. By the way, I am typing my response on my old 2007 MacBook….

Vortexbox is also a player. The current Vortexbox software (v2.3) includes Squeezelite, and can serve as a player connected directly to a USB dac.
