To me if the device is general purpose computer inside, ie with a motherboard I can buy, I feel usually it's not really worth the price, I would instead go with CAPS approach. But CAPS is costly too if you were to upgrade the USB card and dedicated PS. Also personally I prefer I2S for its less conversions involved, hence the question. Thanks guys for your replies, no matter what your opinions are.

Thanks for the responses... After I posted the question, I went on and read more on the ethernet based solution, considering I have Wyred4sound DAC2 DSD SE coming in very soon, now I am wondering given that DAC, would it be better to go with a music server (CAPS or any ready made server), or should I go with a streamer? My understanding is a computer music server would be more flexible, and a dedicated streamer would be more higher grade for audiophile, since it's specially made for audio purposes. Any input and help is much appreciated.

Hi, first post here, fellow CA readers. I am looking at building a CAPS Lagoon music server and have following questions and seeking for advice here: 1. Not sure where to source the LGX MC-500 case here in Canada, any one from Canada can point me to where it's sold? 2. I am also looking at Minibox M350 as an alternative to LGX MC-500, like the one here: NCIX FORUMS - psu included? - Mini-Box M350 Universal mITX Computer Ca... What do you think about this computer case? Would it satisfy a Lagoon build? Looks-wise, it looks not too bad. 3. Would a PPA USB 3.0 card fit in either of these computer cases? I am looking at this card as an alternative to the SOtM card. 4. For power supply, just want to confirm here, I don't need the PSU usually that comes with the computer case, correct? I would need to get the Seasonic or similar power adapter, and maybe later upgrade to dedicated PS, correct? Thanks in advance for the help!
