  1. Hi. After perusing this site for the first time, I realise that I am in no way an audiophile, but still love music so hopefully you can answer my question nonetheless. I have my music library on itunes on a macbook pro that I have plugged into an older NAD stereo system through the computer's audio jack (I realise this is heresy, but I don't have the $ at the moment to buy a decent DAC). At any rate, until I recently upgradede my computer I was using a program called Volume Logic that I found enhanced the quality of the sound in itunes. That app has gone the way of the dodo, which has led to my search for a replacement. So here are my perhaps simple-minded questions: if you are familiar with VL, does Bitperfect perform a similar function? And, does one require a DAC to use bitperfect? If not, will it appreciably enhance the listening experience without it? I will someday get a DAC, just not now; still, I'd like to improve upon the standard itunes sound if possible. Thanks for your time.
