  1. Jesus, you are correct. All this time I was trying to install the wrong driver. I had no idea because the exD USB drivers were the ones posted on the Lampizator website. I was not told which board was in the DAC and didn't even know Lampizator used two different USB solutions. Lukasz (Lampizator man) noticed this after I sent him the screenshot. I will try and install the Amanero drivers later and report back, but this should solve the issue. Thanks everyone for helping out!
  2. I tried to install the drivers on a Win7 laptop and still no luck. This time when I plugged in the DAC, there was a pop-up in the lower right corner that noted there was a new device but that the drivers could not be installed. In both W8 and W7 systems I do notice in device manager that under the other devices category, the dac appears as "combo384 Amanero". So it appears the operating system does "see" the DAC? I also tried to manually install the drivers from device manager but every time I chose the exD driver folder, Windows says it couldn't find the appropriate drivers. I have no idea what I should try next? Thanks Chris for all your help thus far...
  3. I have not tried another Windows computer yet, but will try a Win 7 laptop shortly. I was able to use it via USB on a Mac Mini, using iTunes as a standalone player and software volume control. But the gain is way too high even at the lowest volume setting. I was also able to use it in integrated mode with Audirvana for one night, and then the next day every time I start a song, there are extremely loud pops. I don't think I changed any settings so I was really confused. In Audirvana I always make sure that the DAC is selected in device settings and in the midi panel as well. My preamp is down right now, so that's why I have to hook the DAC straight to my tube amp. Thanks...
  4. I received updated drivers for the DAC, but still haven't been able to install them. The install process is different with these new drivers as Windows asks me to turn on/connect the DAC at the beginning. I tried resetting the DAC, disengaging the power plug, different USB ports but nothing gets Windows to "see" the DAC. Here's the message I get:
  5. I've tried all 4 board USB ports and 2 other USB cables including a generic one with no luck at all. This is so frustrating...
  6. I am using the Intel DN2800MT motherboard, similar to a CAPs build with SOtM USB card (USB power on just in case). I've tried rebooting the DAC several times with no luck. I uninstalled the NAD USB drivers and reinstalled and Win 8 was able to "see" the NAD DAC and completed the install so I think it's a communication issue. Do you think installing Win 7 will solve the issue. I really don't want to go through the hassles if possible. Shouldn't there be an unknown device in the "device manager"? I don't see one... Thanks...
  7. Anyone out there using the Lampizator DAC successfully with Windows 8 64-bit? I am unable to install the USB drivers to completion. I believe the drivers are based off the Thesycon USB driver (v.1.22). I have a NAD DAC that was problematic with Windows 8, but once I disabled digital signatures and ran the install in compatibility mode as administrator then the drivers installed fine. I can get to the end of the install before Windows asked me to turn on the unit, but after this there is no handshaking anymore and I get into a loop with Windows never "seeing" the DAC. Even though the installation failed to complete, something was installed because I see the exD ASIO driver in the Jriver audio settings but not in the sound panel of Win 8 and that is most crucial. Here's a snapshot of where I'm stuck. I tried all USB ports, but communication between the DAC and server is still broken. I removed all prior USB Audio drivers from the computer and retried with no luck. I am wondering if the USB port on the DAC is faulty? I'm going to try using a Mac Mini if I can get one to test the USB port on the DAC. Just wish Windows OS was driver less like MAC OS for USB audio... Help!
