  1. Thanks for the info. This is the PCI version and I do see a NEC and another PCI to USB controller which I believe both are the SOtM card so then maybe it's good to go. I guess then that's what this card is a PCI to USB controller with a bunch of isolation circuitry.
  2. Long time getting things back together but I finally have a new system built for gakaudio with the same SOtM PCI USB card. With the molex connector attached, the new PC boots. However, I don't see anything in Device Manager with regards to this card. If I plug a device into a USB port on the card, that does show up. Should I see this card in the Device Manager anywhere? The manual is in Korean and not very useful. I am really confused about what this card even does. I expected to see something for it under Sound, video and game controllers. I cannot find any drivers for this card anywhere. Any help is appreciated.
  3. Hi everyone, I am the one who built the system for gakaudio and I can answer some of the questions and post my findings in case someone else comes looking someday. We were loosely following the CAPS v2.0 build and needed a motherboard with HDMI so I chose this one. His PC was built in a Realan E-i7 mini-ITX case with a 120W plug-in DC and external 84W AC power supply. I received his system and confirmed his issue. With the card plugged in, it will not POST -- not even any beeps from the speaker. I turned off the LPT and COM ports. I tried a 120W AC adapter and then a 250W ATX power supply. All to no avail, either with or without the molex power plugged in. I tried it in a different system and only with the molex connected could I get it to boot. I then tried this other system with the 120W PSU and no issues. So, either the SOtM card is not compatible with the ASRock AD2700-ITX or the motherboard is defective -- at least as far as I can tell. I don't have any mini-ITX motherboards with a PCI slot on hand so I've ordered a Gigabyte GA-C847N motherboard to give a try to see if it works with everything back together.
