I want to get an USB microphone for recording. Is it possible to use it as a PA system by plugging it directly into the USB input of my DAC and then have the speakers output the microphone?

Wait you spent $6000 on a server and usb re-clocker to put digital signal into the internal DAC of a pair of all in one speakers?

Anyone using the EQ on Roon? There's always been a midrange glare/shoutiness to my room. Last night I decided to use the EQ to try to see if I can fix that and I dropped 6db around 1.5k and that took away that shoutiness now I have zero listening fatigue and that also really smoothed out the bass to midrange transition. My system had never sounded as natural.

Have you guys played around with different HDMI cables? I'm just using a really cheap generic HDMI cable I use for my DVD player and is wondering if it makes sense to invest in one of those short run cables from Kitsune.

If you're just starting out on the hobby, I suggest lowering your budget and start off with something less high-end first. Most likely you're not really quite sure your preference in sound. Also, pre/power amp, speakers, and power management has as much, if not more, of an effect in the sound signature of the system as the DAC. Take your time, and start off slowly first. You'll likely enjoy the hobby more that way.

Are there any sources out there that can output DSD512 via HDMI I2S?

Sorry for the confusion, I had meant booting up my Mini in Windows and using it as a NAA. I'm planning to get the 6700 Intel NUC for the 512 upsampling, but I might wait until that had been confirmed to work smoothly on 512 before investing in both the NUC and the DAC.

I'm sure this had been discussed before but I couldn't find any info on it. Does DSD512 work for the T+A with the SOTM SMS or Microrendu in NAA mode?
