  1. The recommended audio player software for caps is jriver, what do other caps owners use? Many othervare frequently mentioned foobar, jplay, etc also is fidelizer a good option for caps? i have a few free days next week so i hope to spend some time uploading audio files and configuring win 7 pro for optimal performance and mdac pairing. any suggestions are greatly appriciated.
  2. Asus mobo works well, all up and running, just listened to a few tracks on jriver via mdac sounds nice, now the fine tuning. Thanks for the direction
  3. Maybe! But very costly to begin with for a small market. Would be a nice option when building.
  4. It will be ok, all part of the Journey! I have built my home computers for many years this is the first dedicated audio / music project, the last time I had a faulty motherboard was 20 years ago with a 386 cpu and 8mb ram!
  5. After the faulty mother board, i have dropped the intel mobo, in favour of an asus board. will be with me on wednesday, maybe will have some music soon!
  6. Due to the mayhem of a faulty intel mobo, i am going use an asus board in my zumaesque build. not sure what model, mainly choosing by power consumption.
  7. Faulty motherboard, will send it back to amazon, hope its not too late! Im thinking of going with an asus board this time.
  8. Just done an out of case rebuild no different, so now its down to the board or psu, i am going to try with an asus board tomorrow, then its the hammer!
  9. I think this is a power orientated issue, some things work, some don't, some components light up like the optical port, but the usb mouse does not, although gives a flicker when connected. Also the machine powers up when it is plugged into the psu block connected even though the switch is wired correctly. will get there in the end hope its not a faulty mother board or cpu!
  10. no beeps as the board has no speaker
  11. The only thing I have adapted is the cable from the pico psu to the socket on the case, as it was too short, I extended the cable by 6 inches with similar cable for 12v applications.
  12. No signal at all from the start, only the on board graphics no pci graphics card.
  13. Thanks for the reply. I have been using a tv as monitor via the hdmi then the dvi-I ports, tried a different monitor all the same. I have tried unplugging the ram then the ssds, but still no signal. I think I will take it in the morning & see what happens!
  14. Well, all built ready to install win 8 from a usb, all sockets connected and............ no signal to the monitor, nothing at all via any of the display ports. The motherboard led lights up if I plug in a cpu fan it works fine. just no signal to the monitor! any ideas? Help. I will probably have to go to the local computer repair shop that charges £40 to install an OS! and look at the smug look on his face...

    New CAPs Build

A nice touch today, I went into a hifi dealer to look at DACs and ask a few questions, I left with a audiolab MDAC ex display unit for 25% discount, so dac is ready now to finish the CAPs!
