  1. Hello, i was an satisfied user of the T+A DAC8 but i sold it during the release of the T+A DAC8 DSD. Now i want to know - is there any other DAC which outperforms the DAC 8 DSD ? (i did not follow the DAC history for a year...). What i found: the Waida di322 looks interessting too.. Hope you can help me Thanks!
  2. I was a few minutes before to buy the Marantz NA-11S1, i already packed my T+A DAC 8 into its box. I already compared the Marantz NA-11S1 vs. Marantz NA-8005 on Marantz Website, but its show me no real difference. But now i compared the manuals in details and the difference is essential (for me) The 8005 supports now *.AIF Files on every medium NAS/USB Stick/HDD AIF is my preferred file format. The 11S1 doesn not support AIF in any form! (i had plans to use my mac mini with amara for *aif files). When i saw right, the 8005 support DSD files on every medium - the S11 only with USB port and PC/Mac !? The next very important thing: the 8005 supports gapless play for all files - the S11 only support WAV & FLAC! So i decided (just now) two wait for a Marantz NA-11S2. Hope i will see soon the new modell!

    New Amarra 3.0

I contacted them and they send me now the correct upgrade link for the symphony upgrade.

    New Amarra 3.0

Strange i got two offers for the upgrade: one for the normal Amarra and the second for the Amarra Symphony. BUT! Both links with the coupon code are the same !! The Amarra Symphony offer shows me (SAM-AMAR) Amarra Computer Music Player - Thats the normal Amarra isn't it? (I want to buy the Symphony Upgrade)
  6. Maybe this hardcore DRM is maybe an alternative for an usb dongle: https://www.ilok.com/ Other Sound companys (like iZotope) use this too... maybe this helps for a "cheaper" online distribution via download.
  7. Thanks for the answer! i am not convinced that listening a few soundfiles will work! i have most players on the market for mac, and one thing is obvious: every player sounds different and every user have its own favorite music player, because its the sum of the player, the os, the DAC, the speaker, the amp or avr Receiver, the music and the ears and the personal taste. In which way would help me "sounded" music files with my own setup? Or do i have a logic mistake?? btw: a little calculation: 1.000 People buy the player for 800$ =800.000$ 5.000 people pay "only" 400$ =2.000.000$
  8. Lol: "Master Class is available at a price most people can afford. " Sorry, the amarra Symphonie upgrade makes me get gray hair... For the Price i would like to save the money for a new DAC. i would say lower the price and you will get more buyers and remove the dongle..
  9. Still happy with my DAC 8, but i would like to hear the T+A PA 3000 HV and MP 3000 HV combo it will cost near €20.000,- (that's crazy). I would like to hear Marantz the NA-11S1 too, but i wonder it could play ALAC only with 92KHz ? One questions is: i own a Marantz SR9600 (with Elac 607CE's) and wonder if it could play hires audio files @192Khz 24Bit or does it downsample to 44Khz ?
  10. I found a statement from Amarra: Amarra vs. Amarra Symphony http://www.computeraudiophile.com/f11-software/amarra-symphony-sq-16214/#post229451
  11. You think it should sound the same? Because they did'nt mention it (that Symphony should sound better) ?
  12. Is there a sound difference between Amarra & Amarra Symphony? For me Symphony (without IRC) sound better (than normal Amarra), could that be? I thought it should sound equal?
  13. I would like to confirm musicplayers like Amarra, Audirvana+ & Puremusic always sounds better than iTunes only (with the DAC 8) BTW: i'am still happy with my T+A DAC 8 The Blue Coast Collection with DSD 2.8MHz DSF & Audirvana+ sound amazing! http://bluecoastrecords.com/store/various-artists/blue-coast-collection and at the moment you will get this offer only for 12 bucks: http://bluecoastrecords.com/store/keith-greeninger/special-event-21
  14. Its a shame, here in germany we have to pay additional 19% VAT: $599 (normal price for the upgrade) - $110 offer/discount = $ 489 + 19% VAT/MwSt 92,91 = $581,91 final price for the upgrade offer. Its every time to expensive with +19% VAT, for $489 i would say its "ok" (its still expensive enough) I would say to Amarra: please give EU Users an additional 19% discount
