  1. I suspect my issue occurs when Intel CPU's frequency auto changes to save power. There is no such issue on Win7. And it only occurs on Win 8 for the same PC configuration.
  2. Do you use Intel-based system? Some interesting finding recently surfaced that Intel-based config has RTC issue with Windows 8. Only Intel Machines Affected by Windows 8 RTC Bug? | techPowerUp
  3. A bug using USB2 under 64-bit Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 that after a long period of operation (2 hrs or less) that sound will stutter, and in "USBPAL Control Panel" -> "Status Info", the "WDM Audio Error Count" will increase time by time. The quality Oyaide USB2 cable is not the culprit. I'm using 48kHz sample rate and Safe/Small for Streaming and ASIO buffers. The USB driver is the latest 1.34.10 release. Please check and I can give any information if you need.
  4. I've got the same experience for that USB2 has a greater high end. I'm using Oyaide silver USB2 cable.
  5. I found the reason why mytek USB2 can't be recognized in 64-bit Win 8 after PC startup or restart. It is caused by the 'myteksvc' Service that automatic start with Windows. If I set the 'myteksvc' Service in Manual mode and manually start if after Windows startup, it will have no issue to recognize the mytek USB2. I don't know why, maybe Windows 8 starts too quickly than Win 7 (I'm using SSD) that the Service can't be initialized fully during the short interval of startup time??
  6. Also another suggestion/bug to the latest USB driver and 1.7.5b1 firmware: 1. I'm setting to 48kHz sampling rate in the USB PAL control panel because my applications are mostly for 48kHz audio files. 2. When using "ASIO Native" mode in foobar2000 to playback DSD files, mytek will change from 48kHz to 2822.4kHz which is correct. 3. After stopped playing DSD and exit foobar2000, then the sample rate will fall back to 44.1kHz instead of 48kHz when playing PCM audio files. Could the driver revert to the formerly set sampling rate (in my case 48kHz)?? Now I need to 1st stop the PCM playing, then open the USB PAL control panel to set the sampling rate to 48kHz, then start the PCM playback again!!
  7. I ever wrote this: Hi, a bug with the latest 1.7.5b1, please check. Using "ASIO Native" mode in foorbar2000, when trying to playback DSD files but the mytek has been occupied by other audio applications, foobar2000 will prompt "Unrecoverable playback error: Sample rate of 44100 Hz not supported by this device", and the front panel of mytek will display "dSd" and will never change back to 48kHz, etc. I need to power off and on to let it display 48kHz correctly again.

  9. There is major issue for mytek USB2 driver under 64-bit Windows 8. Sometimes, Win 8 can't recognize the device, and if this happens, in Device Manager, there is a device (with yellow !) called "Stereo 192-DSD DAC Device" directly under PC and is not under "Sound, video and game controllers". There is no such issue under 64-bit Windows 7. Please update your USB2 driver for Windows 8 compatibility since Windows 8 has been released for nearly a year. Thanks!
  10. Hi, is that okay to also send me the new firmware on Friday? I'm now using 1.7.3b2, it works fine and would like to use newer ones when available, I've send you a PM with my email address. Thanks so much!
  11. Hi, thanks for your info. IMHO, in theory, encapsulate DSD in PCM before transmitting and then extract it in DAC will cause jitter and negative impact to sound quality. I don't know how to write DICE to let them implement ASIO Native DSD support in its FW driver. I'm thinking to buy a good quality USB A-B cable (like Oyaide Continental 5S?) to switch to USB2 connection. USB2 can support ASIO Native DSD well. Also, in your picture, the "SupportPCMFormat" is also NO?
  12. I'm trying hard to look through the pages, and found there are already firmware 1.7.2/1.7.3b2 and latest firewire driver 4.0.0/4.1.2 available for some beta testers, could you kindly confirm whether the latest FW/driver combinations have already get "ASIO Native" DSD support on firewire?
  13. Hi, I'm using both USB2 and FW connections on mytek. I like the DSD "ASIO Native" support on USB2 that there is no sample rate changes/playback interruption when ff/rewind or change songs in Foobar2000. But FW can only use "DSD over PCM" with all the sample rate changes and interruptions when ff/rewind or change songs. And I’m loving FW playback due to it sounds better on my system. Hopefully, mytek can release a new FW firmware with the latest TCAT 4.1.2 driver to support DSD “ASIO Native” support!
