  1. I believe what I want to do is "normalize" the volume.... anybody ever use iVolume? http://www.mani.de/ivolume/
  2. I've never used it but apparently it was a real-time compressor and equalizer, it does a superb job of making tracks sound consistent.
  3. Anybody have a good way to balance the volume in iTunes without using "soundcheck"? Something like: www.volumelogic.com
  4. Just got a new network. My iMac is now connected directly to my hi-speed modem. My Airport Express is in the other room connected to my strereo. Is there a way to connect my iMac and my AE without using another wireless router?
  5. That would be great if I had the extra $400 + money for a DAC right now, but I'm running the iPod into my NAD C370 integrated amp (no DAC).
  6. My iPod dock and Airport Express are different volumes when plugged into my integrated amp. How can I make sure they are equal so I don't hurt my speakers when I switch. The dock is usually louder. Is there a way to turn off volume control on the iPod when it is in the dock?
  7. Is it possible to use an Aiport Express connected to my integrated amp to wirelessly connect to my iMac while utilizing another wireless network for the internet? Inherently I would like to connect to 2 wireless networks at the same time. Reason being, I am connected to my roommates wireless network for internet, but when I use my AE to join that network (or extend that network) the signal continuously gives out.
  8. Much of the music I have accumulated in the recent future was dowloaded directly from iTunes. What quality am I missing out on by downloading from iTunes vs ripping a CD? Is it possible to move forward and grow my music collection just downloading music from iTunes?
  9. Why not AAC? Right now I am using only the internal HD of my iMac and don't want to run out of room just yet. Perhaps in the future I will upgrade to an external or server but not yet. Also, what do you do with all the music you've already imported or downloaded and is AAC?
  10. Opus. You are correct... I'm just a bit confused and new to all this.
  11. The system sounds great. Sometimes the Airport cuts out, but I intend to stop using that soon. I guess my big question is the best way to connect the iMac to the integrated amp. USB? Optical out to RCA?
  12. Equipment: iMac (intel) running OSX Leopard (using iTunes for playback) NAD C370 Integrated Amp JM Lab Cobalt 806 Speakers Straightwire Cables Apple Airport Express with Airtunes (to connect iMac to amp) I am now exclusively using my iMac for music and wonder how this will affect my music. I used to use a CD player, but got rid of it, and need to know how to move forward with the highest quality sound. 1. What is the best way to connect my iMac to my NAD integrated amp? 2. Do I really need an external DAC? 3. Any other comments/suggestions are much appreciated. You can also email me at [email protected] THANK YOU!
