  1. Artist: RA , Saliva & Dark New Day Title: RA-Black Sun, Saliva-Cinco Diablo , Dark New Day-Twelve Year Silence Genre: Melodic New Hard Rock Good song to sample: RA- Broken Hearted Soul. Saliva-Family Reunion, Dark New Day-Follow The Sundown Similar artists: Interesting notes: I've been there from the 70's to present as an audiophlie enjoying then and now. Recording quality:16 Bit 44.1 Khz Comments: These albums being the new and latest of optimum recording tech at the commercial level to achieve the best quality in overall sound including bottom end LF with clarity, definition and bass slam. BTW I do utilize an EQ to enhance the lower extremeties provided with my sound card.
  2. I realize its been mentioned above. After reading about it. It is for sure one better than the rest not inluding any Lynx of course for $200. Asus Essence STX. Burr Brown dac with 24 bit/192khz analog out, 124 db signal to noise, swappable opamps and lots more. This one makes me quiver to think about the possibilities of replacing the Auzentech X-Meridian modded. Definitely would consider upgrading and swap the clock and caps on the Asus. For audiophile stereo purists on a budget. http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?modelmenu=2&model=2711&l1=25&l2=150&l3=0&l4=0 As to the point mentioned by Ashley about PC noise. Its true. You need to correct that issue. It can be dealt with by carefully selecting components like the PSU, video card cooling fans, and CPU fan. There are several cooling fan manufacturers that can address this problem like Thermaltake, Zalman and Silent-X. My noise level with these mods have gone from 50db to 21db. Music at low levels becomes far more enjoyable.
  3. Hey Chris Yes I've got it. I do have a habit of aquiring nothing but remasters if available. There are some remasters that sound great. And some that are not so. Out of 1 to 10. I'll give Boston a 6. Rush albums as well. The Police Reggaatta de Blanc a definite 8. AC-DC Back in Black and Van halen's first two as well. Boston sounds is somewhat dissapointing.Bass lacks clarity, definition and punch.
  4. If I were to buy a new soundcard today and I couldn't afford a Lynx. Being several hundred dollars cheaper. This would be the one. 24 bit 192khz analog output, swappable opamps and a lot more. http://www.htomega.com/clarohalo.html My soundcard that I've had for a couple years now is the Auzentech Meridian with 24 bit/192 khz analog output (now discontinued). Since then I have done several modifications for superior performance enhancements. eg.precision external clock, high end capacitor replacements and Burr Brown and Analog Devices opamps for a custom tailored sound. I use the card for 2.1 stereo analog playback through my home stereo system. http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/bb21/morfeeus2/DSC01594.jpg I rip all my cds in wav using XP and winamps with HQ resampling plugins.
