    HQ Player

I’m glad it is still possible and can live with that. Thanks for the reply.

    HQ Player

Hi @Miska . I like to use hqplayer 5 in both pcm upscaling and “bitperfect mode”. Bit perfect as an alternate and much better sounding engine than roon. I set it at none, none, none and 0db when in this mode. Is this truly a passthru using your engine or is there some processing? If not, would it be possible to add a switch for this option? It makes for a much superior engine when used with roon.
  3. This works for PGGB files to 768k. Front end is an Allo Usbridge fed by roon/hqplayer.
  4. I always run my files through a metadata editor before and after processing. Part of the fun for me.
  5. I standby a couple of those quotes! So far I am up to 3 1tb sdcards for my SP3000 and Poly/Mojo 2.
  6. This takes the Mojo 2 to the next level. For PGGB I feel it betters the Poly/Mojo 2 for detail and transparency. I'll leave it to others as to whether it beats the Dave. Source is Antiodes K30 - ethernet - Allo Usbridge - usb cable from Audiowise
  7. Same findings as you except no sdcard in poly hotspot. That was what I wanted as well. I will revisit that. Thanks!
  8. Have you got it to work in Poly Hotspot mode or when using your iphone's hotspot? Worked well for me on my local network but not when mobile.
  9. My HQPlayer 5 is the desktop version. I have both desktop and embedded (Antipodes K30) ver 4 and find the the improvement over both. I am running 5 on an iMac 3.6ghz 10 core Intel i9 with 40gb ram and also using HQPDControl on an iPad for direct play. This is also my pggb computer and I have had no trouble with 256 conversions unless the tracks are very long.
  10. I’ve noticed a definite improvement in HQPlayer 5 when playing pggb files either direct with hqplayer or roon/hqplayer. I think I prefer roon/hqplayer as it is a bit more relaxed. There is more detail retreival with 5. imho
  11. Thanks for taking the time to check that out. I get it on both the poly/mojo 2 and the Antipodes so it is not device specific. As soon as play resumes it is gone, sometimes advancing the track will stop it as well. Not a pggb issue I’m sure.
  12. That is the same card. I use 3 in rotation. I am really impressed with the sound from poly/mojo 2 with the pggb files. Most of mine on the cards are p64 with the more current at p256. It’s probably just me but the p64 have more air while the p256 lack that air but better transients and detail.
  13. I loaded a card with p64 16fs 24b and very limited squeal. It was at a much reduced volume. I really doubt it is anything to do with pggb and most likely the MPD player. Although rated to 768 I doubt the designer rigorously tested at that resolution due to availability of files. As I use MPD regularly on the K30 I have a work around. Of course if I let it play to the end of the album there is no issue. I did load the p256 files on my AK SP3000 and there is no issue. I do not know what player they use and it is Android not linux.
  14. That is interesting. What do you use for playback control. I seem to remember you used glider. I made playlists and used gofigure and also used Rigelian. Both gave the squeal.
  15. I do agree LMS does sound better for pggb on the K30. Unfortunately there is no alternative on the poly/mojo for a portable solution. I have been using the poly for pggb files for awhile and did not notice this previously. I am going to check if it may be the 256b files that are the cause. I’ll be bach…
