  1. When playing Rhapsody on my ipad using the StreamMagic app it does not show my Rhapsody music library. The Rhapsody app does show my music library but it does not connect to my Stream Magic.
  2. I got better sound when I: 1) Got a music server (Cambridge Stream Magic 6 v.2) 2) Connected it directly to the internet with a Powerline ethernet cable. This plays music services such as Rhapsody, Spotify, Pandora, Sirius, etc., all internet radio stations (with presets), music on the network. 3) I put a NAS hard drive on the network connected directly to the router with ethernet cable. I ripped my CD's to the NAS. The Stream Magic will recognize the NAS and play the music stored on it. 4) That way you can turn on the Stream Magic and stereo system and don't need the computer. You can operate the Stream Magic from the front panel, but it is much easier to use the available app for Apple or android phone or tablet. The direct ethernet connection and music streamer give me much better quality.
  3. Thanks. I got another email saying the USB hard drive must be formatted in Fat32 if read directly from the Stream Magic.
  4. Can the Cambridge StreamMagic 6 v.2 read music files from a USB hard drive connected directly via USB or does it have to read the files from over a network?
  5. Thanks for everybody's help. My Cambridge Audio 851c has S/DPIF, Toslink, and AES/EBU digital inputs and a USB inputs used with a Decware SE34I.32 integrated amp and Decware HDT speakers. The S/DPIF and AES/EBU inputs sound better than the USB.
  6. Chris, thanks for your response. I read the CAPs articles but do not want anything that specialized. I have a good quality computer but didn't know if a sound card would improve the sound if it is going from a USB cable to a Cambridge 851c DAC/CD player or through a Musical Fidelity V-Link 192 converter to the Cambridge 851c. I realize a sound card would improve the sound if I was listening through my computer speakers, but not through a separate DAC. I am unsure whether any lower quality sound coming from the computer is not improved as much as possible by the Cambridge DAC. Would a higher quality USB signal improve the overall results? Or, by a separate USB card vs the sound card?
  7. I use my computer to listen to my stereo system through a USB cable going to a DAC (or through a USB cable to Musical Fidelity V-Link 192 S/PDIF converter via coaxial or XLR AES/EBU cable to DAC). I need a new computer. Are there any computer configurations (sound card, etc.) that will maximize my sound or is all the quality determined by the DAC and sound system?
  8. I am not getting the T in my taskbar. I have it connected to a Cambridge 851C which also requires a USB Audio Driver. My device manager simply shows USB Audio Device with the yellow triangle showing the device has not started.
  9. It now shows driver version 1.6 installed, but it still says the device cannot start.
  10. Yes, I have version 1.48 that came on the CD with the unit. I think the updated version you listed is for Windows 8. I can try it.
  11. My V-Link 192 does not show up under the available sound devices. It appears in device manager and under "devices and printers" but says the "device cannot start." Any clues?
  12. Is there a way to play FLAC files on an IPOD?
