You mean selling the B&W and Rotel for something around the same price range? Now way! I listened to many speakers and the Rotel + B&W is really the best one can get around 1000 pounds, when connected to a good source, imo way better than the ADM9s. I finally dropped the Creek and ended up just using the built-in headphone amp on the Beresford. Hmmm... sounds good, even though I'm not going to use headphones...
  2. Thanks for replying!! I found many topics about the Beresford, and everyone says it's great and that sort of stuff, so I'm not going to argue about that. There's only one big question which no one has really answered yet (or I couldn't find the answer): Does the Beresford DAC, or any other DAC, really improve the iMac's sound quality? Is the sound comparable to HiFi CD players, or better, or worse (assuming that one plays lossless audio)?
  3. Hi, I currently have an (Intel) iMac connected to a Rotal RA-05 amp with the headphone jack, and the Rotel connected to two B&W 685 speakers. I also connected a cheap Sony CD player. The CD player produces better sound, which is maybe obvious, but now what I want... Does anyone know what I have to do to improve the sound quality when using the iMac as source? I heard some people talking about DAC's, others about sound cards and other about other stuff, which all confuses me about what's best. Thanks in advance! (btw, budget is around 200 euro max, cheaper preferred, a little more expensive allowed if it really boosts the quality)
