  4. Hi Sophomore thanks you for repling i am currently looking at the website. i was just wondering is this a standard 16bit dac or have i logged onto the wrong unit. whats your take on haveing an upsampling dac rather than a standard bit unit? i can see it has the option for a btr chip which i dont mind going for. do you have one of these units?

  6. hi everyone i have decided to set myself up with a portable stereo system. i have started with a pair of koss dj200 phones and i am looking to buy 3 things to partner these phones. 1.dac - FiiO 2.portable amp - JDS Labs - C5 Headphone Amplifier 3.player? maybe filo i know that the portable player will be expensive so just for now i am useing a htc phone that has a 32g memory card to store hd tracks at 320kbs. i would love to hear of any great large capacity players that i could use. i am also looking to use my dat player as well with tracks recorded from the hifi. i have seen a few things today as i started looking, that looked of interest. they are as follows - i know that the question how much will i spend will come up and this is hard but maybe 200 per unit? i saw this and it looks very nicely made, plus there is a bass boost that interests me a lot. JDS Labs - C5 Headphone Amplifier again looking at a portable dac i saw this lovely unit - FiiO the type of sound should be a smooth top end but detailed a wide open soundstage and deep tight bass. i know the koss have said to be not that bassy but there a start for now. if we could look at phones as well that would be great. its a system being built over time. music i listen to well thats from funk to ambient, hiphop to enya, drumn bass to classical respects raju God bless u in Jesus name

  10. the amp is actually silent when nothing is connected. the sound is definately from the pc, the cables where all checked individually. its not a mains crossing over either. unusual is it not. i therefore thought what if i go down the root of useing an external dac as the new sound card?
