  1. An update , I've been using Airplay successfully until yesterday , itunes , Airfoil and Tuneblade no longer see my streamer , uninstalled and reinstalled them all but no good . Musicbee is fine but that is using UPnP/DLNA . So must have been a tweek in Win 10 and bang goes Airplay !
  2. Ok its not the router there has been a development. I left the Airfoil program running on my desktop , after an hour or so the Neet Airstream in the device list blipped off. I rebooted the laptop but no good. I then tried another laptop (Windows 7) opened itunes selected a track clicked AirPlay , played. I then tried Windows Media Player and this also streamed , this has never worked on my Win 10 laptop. I went back to my laptop uninstalled Airfoil and itunes and reinstalled Airfoil bingo it was back. I can't uninstall WMP , it sees the streamer but thats it. So Windows 10 problem ?
  3. Just found this : We have previously had a thread which listed some routers that would not work with multicast/igmp on BT Infinity, so have decided to create a thread of devices we now know work with the service. BT HomeHub 3 and 4 - Automatically enabled (no option to enable/disable feature)
  4. Hi John It is the Neet that has been replaced not the router , the router is a BT hub 4 . This morning when I reconnected the Neet it was visible again in itunes , Airfoil and WMP . Never actually tried WMP and I can confirm what you say about Neet being an AirPlay device , WMP sees it but wont send music it to it. I have been told to reserve the IP address of the Neet , I can only lease this for a max of 21 days which is what I have done. I shall also now check the IGMP/Multicast setting.
  5. Hi Guys I have been using a Neet Airstream Pro , wired to my router and toshlink to my DAC. The Airsteam Pro is compatible with AirPlay , WMP and Airfoil , I have all three on my Laptop. There is no set up required you just select the Airstream from the music player and away you go. Two weeks ago my music players stopped seeing the streamer , a reboot of my laptop sometimes brought it back. Then it went all together , it was showing in my router home page and its dashboard is accessible from my laptop. Today I received a replacement unit and it worked straight off , tonight when I connected it had disappeared . The checks from its dashboard are all ok except the music check which I can't do obviously because itunes etc doesn't see it. help !
  6. After a bit of research and for anybody that doesn't know , to hear the DSD from the SACD disc I would need to connect my Universal player via HDMI to DAC/Reciever that has DSD to Analogue capabilities. Other than that I can hear the DSD coverted to PCM via HDMI into my DAC or Analogue RCA out to my Amp.
  7. I think that may be a load of twaddle I just posted , bit lost with this , the manual says in the PCM option : "The 752BD’s own audio outputs are also active and playback of SACD material is possible by the 752BD itself." Meaning from PCM and not DSD ?
  8. Thanks I've read that a couple of times now , am I right in saying that DSD cannot be sent through the analogue outs ?
  9. Thanks , I do already have an external HD plugged into the back of my universal player for FLAC files. The query is really just about the SACD res , btw my player has an option to switch out the CD layer of SACD's which I have done .
  10. After a brief flirtation with remastered CDs I have entered the world of High Res discs. I use a Cambridge Audio BD752 universal player and new last week a NAD M51 DAC. After some cable swapping I found out Blu-Ray Audio discs wont give full res out of the digital outputs and yet DVD-A discs will , I have to use HDMI for Blu-Ray Audio. Its SACD which has got me puzzled (I'm not up to speed yet on DSD or PCM) my 752 shows a SACD disc as PCM , there is no sound out of digital outputs but through the HDMI the NAD flags up 88.2 kz ? Would anybody be kind enough to briefly explain whats happening. btw it sounds excellent.
  11. Ok I'm going with the 3.5 to RCA cable as the toshlink connection threw up an error even though I selected it as default ,plus its simpler to revert back to my worktop speakers. Thanks your input.
  12. Yes indeed, I have shorter cables of both I'll try and move my PC tower near to my Hi-Fi and test both.
  13. Hi Before I buy a 5 mtr cable which should be the best way to go ? 1. 3.5 jack out of my Hi-Face (usb) DAC , twin RCA into Analogue Amp. or 2. Optical out of Motherboard into my Cambridge Audio DAC - Analogue amp
