  2. i wasn't so much thinking about burning to disc but about simply moving a file from 1 location to another. i still wonder whether a file would degrade if copied several times. i remember a piece in a recent hi-fi magazine where a large digital file (photo i think) was copied using 2 different usb cables and the copy made with the cheaper cable had lost some bits.
  3. i guess experiences in the past with analog files (cassette/VHS) have been ingrained in my psych. as to my name, my family chose that for me as a nick-name in the sixties, long before it acquired it's modern meaning. thanks for your welcome.....
  4. they are my own flac files ripped from cd's.
  5. hi everyone, first time post.... i have recently been moving my lossless audio files from 1 storage device to another by usb cable. will doing this degrade the files in any way? thanks for your response, lawrie
