I figured it out. posting here in case others come across same issue. there is a foam gasket on the inside of the enclosure around the satellite speaker connectors. this was dried out and shrunk significantly leaving a gap around the connectors. as a last ditch effort i replaced the gasket and it stopped the rattling. not sure why that was the cause though, but i can sleep now.
  3. hello, i have the klipsch promedia 2.1 system for about 8 years now. subwoofer is making rattling noises. i first thought it was the driver so i replaced it, but didn't solve the entire problem. then noticed the rattling was coming from the rear panel, so i removed it and tightened everything down that i could. still rattling. can't figure out what else to do? looking for suggestions. thanks
