  1. Ack. Through my wired or wireless connection I get no more than .02MB/sec ripping speed compared to 2.6MB/sec to the USB drive. Looks like I'll be troubleshooting the network on the weekend!
  2. +1 I bought a little 4" external fan that I use for this exact purpose (I typically rip in bursts of 4 SACDs).
  3. Hi - I've been a 'happy' ripper for the past month without any issues using a USB drive between the PS/3 and my iMac. I recently tried using the network mode. While ripping did begin, it was WAY SLOW. Something like .01Mb every 30 seconds. Naturally I killed it and went back to my USB drive. Is this normal? I'm in IT and will try to troubleshoot this during the coming weekend. Just wanted to throw this out to see if anyone else has encountered very slow network ripping. Thanks! Paul
  4. Is Audirvana the only player for Mac OS X that can read/play SACD ISO files?
  5. Judging from your reaction Chris, you would have expected different results? -PJ
  6. I agree Shenzi - w/ HDD prices so low ripping uncompressed makes sense. AAMOF, they are so low that my thoughts now center on what kind of a back-up process I should have in place if my (sole) WD external HDD fails (and that would really set me off). Oh well, probably another post on this forum will have some advice.
