    HQ Player

I'm using HQP OS 5.4.0 and I haven't figured out how to change filters & modulators "on the fly". Using the main page of the web interface, my changes are ignored during playback and changing settings on the configuration page causes playback to stop. In other words, what I'm experiencing is the same behavior that has always existed.
  2. @Miska My bank declined my purchase for V5, thinking it might be fraud. I notified them that it was a legitimate transaction, but now when I try to purchase again, I can't seem to reuse my upgrade discount code. Help please.
  3. I had a horrible time with Roon ARC at first. It would disconnect before I could even get through a single song. I have a massive local library (500K+ tracks) and I figured that had something to do with it. I was considering getting a phone with more RAM. But Roon issued a hotfix update this week (Roon/Roon Server build 1234) that successfully resolved the connectivity issues for me. I did need to clear the data & cache for the Roon ARC app from my Android, but after I did that, Roon ARC has been 100% rock soild! I've been using JRiver to stream my library to my phone for years and it works perfectly, but the functionality is crude compared having Roon in the phone/car. Having access to my entire library with easy searching and especially Roon Radio combining my library with Qobuz is game-changer.
  4. Yes, everything looks as expected with "C" listed for HQP and appropriate memory usage on the GPU. My other question is about the time it takes to initialize sinc-L. What aspect of the server makes the most difference there? Is it worth upgrading my CPU (from a Ryzen 5800X), hoping for an improvement with that?
  5. I have a Ryzen 5800X with 32GB and a RTX 3090 GPU running HQPe on Ubuntu Server 22.04. My objective is to play all combos of filters and modulators at DSD 512 EC for all source files. My server does that and everything sounds fantastic. With sinc-L, it definitely has an easier time with 24-192 source files than it does with 16-44. Standard def files use about 16GB of CPU RAM and take about 35 seconds to start playing. Hi-res files use about 5GB of CPU RAM and only take about 12 seconds to start playing. I didn't expect the server to use that much CPU RAM, since the filters run on the GPU (?). Is there anything unusual about those results? I want to make sure I've set things up correctly. Also, with a powerful enough server, is it currently possible for sinc-L to initialize fast (at DSD 512 EC)? Would a more powerful CPU/DDR 5 make a big difference in that regard?
  6. I'm about to upgrade from an RTX 3060 to an RTX 3090 on HQP Embedded on Ubuntu Server 22.04. Will I need to reinstall the Cuda drivers, or are they the same for all the cards?
  7. Thanks for the effort you put into your response Mike. I use Roon with HQP and that works well, but I would love to have the JRiver interface as an alternative. There are things each can do that the other can't. Does playback of DSD source files work? How about gapless? This part sounds like... a lot. You're saying that if you stop the music, you have go through all the steps again? Is there a way to "pause" the music that maintains the connection or the config?
  8. My DAC maxes out at DSD512. I currently have a Ryzen 7 5800X with no GPU. If I'm not mistaken, by just adding the right GPU, I should be able to run all, or nearly all, of the filter/mod combos at DSD512 EC. Is that correct? And if so, can anyone recommend some cost effective GPUs that will get me there? Thanks.
  9. Thanks for offering. Use some 24-192 PCM source material when you're testing. I don't consider any level of upsampling to be a success if it will only work with easier Redbook/CD based files. And if the Oppo supports 48x sample rates, please try those too.
  10. What @Rovo said. I use HQP Embedded which runs on the network. I access it by just entering hqplayer in a browser. Not sure how your setup works, but provide us more details about it and what you're trying to do. Don't give up. The results are worth the effort.
  11. I'm very much enjoying the new 4.33.0 release (HQP OS avx2 version on a Ryzen 7 5800X without GPU). Evidently because of the "performance optimizations" and "HQP OS update", I'm able to use some filters that were just out of reach before. I've done quite a bit of experimentation, so it's hard to know if this release inherently sounds better or if it's due to the new (to me) filter and modulator combos I'm using. But either way, the new release has improved my sound yet again when I was already very happy with it. Thanks Jussi.
  12. All is working well and sounding great with HQP OS 4.32.4. Thanks for the update.
  13. Using HQP OS, I just selected my DAC & Network Audio and the web interface stopped working. I did not change any other settings. The default bit rate (11289600) is well below the DSD512 that my DAC supports. I wiped & re-imaged my USB drive, selected my DAC & Network Audio, selected Auto Rate Family, 48K (which my DAC supports), IPv6 and left the other settings at the default and the web interface again stopped working. I just wanted to give you some more information to work with. For me, 48k, Auto Rate Family and too-high DSD rates did not seem to matter. Just in case it matters, the DAC is a Lampizator using an Amanero Combo USB card.
  14. I'm also having this issue with the new release. I can connect via the web interface... until I select my DAC, After that, the web interface stops connecting. I can still ping the IP, but I can't connect to the interface to control the settings.
  15. Just from looking at the title of the thread, I was hoping this meant that we could "theme" Roon. Chose our own fonts and colors, etc and have more control of the look of the overall app. I should have known better.
