  1. I have a tough decision ... whether to go Marantz NA-11s1 or wait for the next Invicta (http://resonessencelabs.com/). Marantz is significantly cheaper and the analog stage is excellent (I have the SA-11s1).
  2. from page 20 of the 11s3 user manual: Linear PCM signals with sampling frequencies of 32 kHz, 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, 64 kHz, 88.2 kHz, 96 kHz, 176.4 kHz and 192 kHz can be input in the unit. This is the rear USB port (computer connect). so the Marantz should be able to handle FLAC hi-res files.
  3. I understand now. I was hoping I could do this with the Marantz SA-11s3, but it does not support 192khz/24bit files unless fed by a computer. I want to use a USB stick. So I am looking for a 'device' that has a similar performance to the Marantz DAC, but enables device control. Thanks for edifying!
  4. I'm glad I found this site. I am looking to get a DAC that I can plug a USB stick into containing 192khz/24bit audio files. I was considering the Marantz SA-11s3, but on closer read, its USB front port does not support 192/24 files! ... only 48/16. What a disappoitment. I know I can connect a computer to the Marantz (rear USB does support 192), but I really only want to use a memory stick. Any suggestions for a DAC that can do this? I considered Wadia, but they don't have any USB stick support either (unless I am missing something). My goal ultimately is to build a music server (JRiver?) down the road, but right now it would be great to have the USB stick option. By the way, my Oppo 95 blu-ray player handles my 192/24 bit USB stick based files just fine. But it's in the theater room. Maybe just get another Oppo? Thanks
