Hi Boris, I am liking it so far. To me it is warmer and more musical than the DAC1 and I really appreciate the additional features such as the remote control and DSD play back. However it makes a annoying popping sound if the DAC is turned on before the power amp and the headphone amp is the same as the one in DAC1.

When I call up Benchmark, they told me to use the HT by pass if I ever wanted to add an external hp amp.but I have not try it.

To enable HT by pass, you hold down the mute/ dim for couple of seconds until the orange HT light comes on.

Can someone try this. In preference -> General tab check use keyboard media key and uncheck volume control. then in Audio Volume tab Select DAC only. See if you can still adjust the volume in the main interface? I remember the volume control was disabled when I have the same settings in 1.4.6

I have the newly release D version, no analogue input but you would have thought Benchmark would have fixed this before release it. So now I am debating if I should return it.

I found HD650 warmer with DAC2 than DAC1, I too intrested to know how LCD2 pairs with DAC2.

In my case. It happens when the unit is switched ON from full shutdown mode and also happens when switching it OFF.

Thanks Bill and Russ for verifying it. I will turn on the DAC2 before turning on the Genelec from now on to avoid the popping sound. How do you guys like it vs DAC1? To me it it sound warmer than the DAC1.

Anyone with the DAC2 that connected to active speaker that is experiencing popping sound when the DAC is turn on after the speakers? I don't remember having the same issue with DAC1 but maybe it was never turned off.

Yes, The DAC 2 HGC and DAC 2 D both support DSD64.

Very true. I ordered the DAC2 D, should arrive today =). I never user the analog input and no plan to use the 12v trigger. I mainly use it as preamp for my Genelec monitors and as headphone amp. I do like the HT by pass option which will allow me to add a headphone amp or use it just as DAC with out unplugging the active monitors.
