Thanks Cebolla, that's a really helpful reply for a newbie like me.

So, if the BubbleUPnP control app won't allow gapless playback without having to keep the tablet powered on, are there any other decent apps out there that would allow the creation of playlists and gapless playback of such playlists which would work in conjunction with a Pioneer N50? For info, my music is on a QNAP TS 110 NAS drive.

That would be fine but, unless I'm missing something, you can't create a playlist using the Pioneer control app.

Isn't this a bit of a major shortcoming with any network player. One of the joys of having access to all of the music on your network is to be able to create playlists on the fly. Otherwise you may as well change discs every time you've finished listening to one album/track...
