  1. Mordante, Check for the yellowtec puc. You get maybe the best converter, and a good dac is included. Than in future, you can also use it for other dacs, as converter only. Think you will be happy, even usb powered..
  2. Current reference dac's, example qbd76hd, do have a very high quality usb input. Do not think any usb converter will better it. You can better it of course, by upgrading the usb signal itself.
  3. I used to have audiophilleo with aqvox power supply..great improvement, easy use. Try windows 8.1 if possible, better than xp soundwise. You could also go for hiface 2 for the money, and sell the 1..
  4. Understand..you could maybe set jriver to resample audio to 44 and 88 -176 khz output as a compromise. linear or battery power 9v for the evo itself would still be better than the ifipower i think. Would be great to see a new all-in-one converter at evo stack level from m2tech though.
  5. Hi,I believe the evo supply or evo clock will give you more improvement. Espacially the evo clock is a great upgrade. Or do you use the hiface?
  6. hi, check kingrex psu, £170. Significant sound upgrade with qutehd, and you get a power switch. I personally do not like the battery option, because of the charging trouble. good luck,
  7. Hi, I'm using kernel streaming, no change in frequenties until 192khz, no up or downmix for stereo, for dsd select DoP. This in audio settings. just try some small things in the menu's step by step during time. I cannot hear much difference when using wasapi I confess. good luck.
  8. Hi, Liked the hiface and evo converters, So had a demo of their young at home. The chord qute i bought later, is really on a higher level. Haven not listened to the mytek. good luck,
  9. Sorry if i'm wrong, but I would never use the pc to control the volume when connected to an amplifier, just disable much as possible software control. Good luck,
  10. Hi, listening to the qutehd, you will hear the same character sound as it's bigger brother. At first, you mighy even think, it is just as good But when you switch back to the qbd, you wil hear even more 3D, detail and all that. Even using the Usb input on the QBD. QBD76 HD has a very good USB input, and you will need a very good spdif converter front of it's coax input to beat it. I can easily live with the Qutehd knowing the differences however. Good luck,
  11. Yes, the converter uses it's own clock (s) and not the pc clock.
  12. Hi, qutehd is using it's housing as a heatsink. So of the qutehd does not warm up while playing at all, there might not be good contact to the frame? Btw after 50 minuts it,s just getting a bit warm, 36 degrees
  13. Hi, it should run warm almost hot whitin 1 hour in my experience. Maybe.return to your dealer to check? They will sure help you together with chord's feedback. Good luck!
  14. Audiobyte Hydra: High-End USB interface | One man's journey into audio world looks like an intresting new converter for reasonable price..quality clocks, battery powered aswell external usb.cannot find Much comparitions though.
  15. Hi, I could be John fox fan has upgraded his converter towards the audiophilleo if I read back correct. But I,m using the hiface 2 at the moment with satisfaction, and if you want to start trying USB converters, this one is very good to start with. It believe it could be much better than your toslink on your rega. And if you like to upgrade later, you won't lose to much money with it. good luck.
