  1. I was disappointed in Countdown and Peace as well. Didn't sound any good. Actually worse than my original CD's. As to the content on Super Collider. Let me start by giving it stars. I would give it 4/6 The opening track Kingmaker is truly great. A speedy track with great riffs and Mustaines has never sounded better. But already on track two, the title track Super Collider, the album suffers. The track is probably the most boring and generic ever done by Megadeth. After that however the rest of the album is actually pretty good. Not great, but good. More of a hard rock album than Thrash. Guess you could call it hard rock with metal and thrash elements.
  2. Wow, Megadeth's latest album, Super Collider actually has a much higher DR on the HDTracks download than on the CD. Now that's how HDTracks should be. Not just a 24bit version of a brickwalled mastering, but a true audiophile mastering in 24bit. Guess Mustaine must have something to do with this since it's their first album on his own label. 3. Damn, could not resist. Bought the album 24bit 96Khz, and it actually sounds rather great. No clipping, full sound, great depth and clear highs. Sounds alot like the 2013 remaster for the Anniversary CD.
  4. Those numbers are pretty much the same as on my original 1984 cd.
  5. Anyone got DR numbers? My old CD is already great sounding and with very good DR, so curious as to how the HDTracks version will sound and measure.
  6. The Mastered for iTunes version has slightly better DR. The vinyl mastering is the best though, should have been used for high res.
  7. I'm not impressed so far on the DR-database - except for the vinyl edition, which look quite good in numbers. I guess HDTracks will receive the same version as Qubuz which is actually lower (not by much) than the Mastered for iTunes edition. Boy, if they were to use the vinyl mastering ... dreaming!
  8. Anyone heard it or measured it? 10. Not available yet, but announced on their Facebook page. Among other interesting titles like ZZ Top's Eliminator.
  11. One of my favorite 80's albums, sound is okay on the original CD, later remastered editions sound AWFUL. 12. For all I know Prince produced and did everything. The CD really sounds great. Dirty Mind does as well.
