Chris, I recently purchased an inexpensive laptop ($600) that came with Windows XP Home Premium. Unknowingly, I later discovered that this OS comes with Windows Media Center. I started thinking, reading, and experimenting, and have come to the appealing conclusion that once connected to my TV and Active speakers (Paradigm Active 20), I have all the elements required to play all my media (movies, audio, pics.) from one interface and box. The big question I had hovered around sound quality, which led me to your site. Kudos on a great site BTW.<br /> <br /> My question is regarding the Firestone Fubar II USB DAC. Once connected to my PC as described above, will I be able to control the volume with Media Center? Or will I need a preamp for that?<br /> <br /> Thanks.
