  1. It looks like the GeekOut will have to take up duties for cheap hi-fi for the masses. I know at one point they were talking about a stripped down Pulse, 0 bells and 0 whistles but from $299 they could only shave another few dollars off the original and scrapped that idea. It wouldn't be out of the question to see it make a come back with the new retail prices though. I am excited to hear Pulse, especially after a year wait and much thread following. Did anyone get a first hand listen at RMAF?
  2. With that kind of publicity, who needs detractors. It could be just the thing to make people stop associating PM with being buggy.
  3. Are you talking about the entire internet or just this thread? Yes, going the full court battle is expensive but hiring counsel and trying to gain traction before it gets that far is much less expensive. Speculation here, but if Pure Music hadn't intended to litigate, why did they file for the patent?
  4. Software patents, the new lottery. Does your patent have this weeks winning numbers to make it through the court system?
  5. This guide should be a help, the screenshots use a later version but it should'tn be much different. Geek Temple :: Topic: Geek 101: Macintosh Set-up Guide (1/2)
  6. If he worked for free, I am sure it would benefit some in the short-term. Until of course he decided there were better ways to spend his time and stopped supporting the product. Every upgrade and support issue with changing versions of itunes and OS until 2.0 has been free. For this completely redesigned and enhanced version it sounds like you will need to nut-up $30-40 USD if you would like the enhancements. I don't think there is an obligation to do so though and you can happily run your current version with a fat $30 roll in your pocket. Don't spend it all in one place The second sentence of the quote you cited also says that any current users will pay either the same or less than buying version 2.0 outright and that it is still good timing to purchase A+ if you've been worried about the update.
  7. Bill Evans Trio Moon Beams Acoustic Sound DSD version. A bit of hiss from the tape but otherwise stellar sonics.
  8. Zoo Animal Departure Scout Niblet meets Mazzy Star - Soft and chill with angry girl under-currents http://zooanimal.bandcamp.com/album/departure
  9. Fiio has such a great value on their headphone gear and they seem to know their way around that arena better than some of the new "me too" products.
  10. If by that you mean the amatures have more time on their hands at these events away from professional obligations...then I agree. You often see the audio magazine providing corrections after they post their pics because they haven't quite got a system down that works. It really takes the fun out of just shooting
  11. The Softboys seemed more seriously about trying to take a bite out of rock than his solo efforts. The version of Cold Turkey on this album is worth looking up on spotify. I liked his first 2 solo albums but then couldn't keep up. His moodiest, I Often Dream of Trains is a long time favorite.
  12. It's incredibly time consuming to take photos and notes of what pic goes with what, inputting text and perhaps links. You're right though, it would be great...and all the magazines and sites will eventually have a handful of photos where they have done this. I do like seeing a large group of photos like this where that kind of care doesn't have to taken in favor of raw quantity. Things that aren't perhaps noteworthy but it's easy enough to click a picture, I look at it as more of a virtual walk-through.
  13. The industrial design from this show makes my tongue fall out. So Good
  14. Soft Boys Can of Bees The post punk album that predates a good chunk of punk. Velvet Underground, Syd Barret, Big Star & a little something else.
