  1. You are aware that there is music (Timeline concerts for example) that you can only stream & is not available to download ? Thanks for pointing me at the page on the Archives. I am now clear that I must change settings in Windows to 24/192 before listening to the archives & to then change them back to 16/44.1 after to avoid having Windows up-sample everything to 24/192😡 My Topping DAC comes with an ASIO driver which will automatically switch between DSD & PCM. I naively thought this would be possible with Neil Young Archives
  2. Neil Young Archives is primarily a streaming service. Downloads are available (but obviously cost money). I was gifted a years subscription. I don't buy downloads. I just want to enjoy the full quality of my gift.
  3. Thanks for responding. Still puzzled though. I did this & when I went back to listening to anything else via the browser & my DAC display stayed at 192. I also use foobar2000 (with ASIO add-on) into the Topping sourced driver software to play FLAC files of various resolutions & DSD that I ripped from SACD & the DAC display shows the correct file resolution.
  4. Windows 10. It updated the day before yesterday. I'm listening to the current Timeline concert which says in the playback window says "FULL 24/192 RESOLUTION" but my DAC (Topping E30) says 44.1. Thanks for responding
  5. I have sufficient bandwidth. But my DAC resolutely displays the rate set in Control Panel
  6. I know it has only just been announced, but is this U.S.A. ONLY? Or will it be available in the UK?
  7. Uncle Neil always says something thought provoking. From this article: " I'm not content to be content"
  8. This advice is "on-the-money". For my sins, I spent most of the 1990's as a record dealer with a market stall three days a week, and one or two record fairs at the weekend. If the answer to "has anyone looked through this collection before?" was Yes I usually walked at that point. If I was the first to look at a collection I would make what I considered a generous instant cash offer for everything, after cautioning would-be sellers that the vast majority of LP's are essentially worthless except to the person who is destined to own them next. SJK's advice above would have got my attention for sure, but IMHO 200 LP's is too few to attract any experienced record dealers. If I were in the position of the OP I would list them on Discogs first
  9. The imminent end of support for W7. I only mentioned VPN because I thought it would hide my IP address
  10. I am quite comfortable using W7. I don't do internet banking. My anti-virus, presumably, isn't going to magically stop working. Can't I just hide behind a VPN & carry on, regardless? Educate me please
  11. Thanks for letting me know Peter. Are you able to explain what the cause was?
  12. My test track, Greggery Peccary 20+ mins long, plays fine using the Tidal desktop app, but is allegedly only 1min 54secs when played via Linn Kazoo control point. Hmmm???
  13. Have you contacted Tidal? I am about to sleep, but will investigate when I wake. Thanks for responding
