  1. I was thinking to use this cable and cut it to 6 inches. Then solder a new USB A connector to data leads inside the shield as depicted in above link. Power lines can be separated and soldered to another connector. http://www.usbfirewire.com/Parts/rr-abr05-24.html#RR-ABR05-12G Will this give rise to an impedance issue?
  2. I am a head Fi supremus member who has very good DIY skills. I was keen on making a USB cable separating data/power with silver wire and making it as short as possible. I don't think the price of Gemini cable justifies the improvement one gets from it. However there is a concern about 90ohm impedance of the cable. What do you think? It is better to build the cable from the scratch using the silver wire or modify a cable like Belkin using a technique like here ? [DIY] TNT 221 USB Y-cable [English]
  3. I have bought iUSB, iDAC and iCAN. I have a crazy idea of powering up the iCAN and iUSB with Energiser XP8000 9V out specially when I am out. I use iUSB with my DACPORT LX on the move. Would that be a good idea? XP8000 supply 9-12v from that output port.
