  1. I guess its not automatic like Audirvana... thanks!
  2. Hi All, I am just starting to get more involved with Amarra 4 Luxe and was wondering how one adds new music to an existing library. With Audirvana Plus, its quite simple in that you add new music to a folder that it already knows of and when you launch the app, it immediately recognized the new added music and adds it to the library and you are done! How is this handled/achieved with Amarra and what would be the steps involved to add new music? Cheers, Vin.
  3. Agreed! - Once Sonic eventually implements the DSD features, I may then move over to A4 Luxe from Audirvana Plus but until then...
  4. Thanks - just tried calling and no one there to take my call again. Followed up with another e-mail - fingers crossed although if I can't get something soon and the date extends which looks like it will do, then I may just upgrade my A+ and call it a day - as much as I would like to try the new Amarra Luxe 4...
  5. Much appreciated - I'll try calling them again. The other thing I need with the Luxe version, is to be able to play DSD without the PCM conversion which I believe the current Amarra 4 version does not do. The other issue with A4 is that it doesn't support .ISO files like A+ does, so I will have to break up the files into individual files, but that is a blessing in disguise as you can then set the metadata for those files for artwork, track info. etc. :-)
  6. Just to provide an update - have not heard back from Ralph on getting on the beta program - I had also called and left them a message last week. Any other ideas/suggestions...?
  7. Good idea - Thanks and will do!
  8. Much appreciated and will do! - What are the issues with the library management? That's a real shame just when things are looking a lot sexier than the previous version/s...
  9. Hello all - is there an Amarra 4 Luxe beta out there for one to play and test with? I am currently an A+ user but would like to see how the two compare in terms of sound quality etc. Cheers, Vin.
  10. To add some info from the DAC designer which I think probably suggests that the iUSB Power is probably redundant for this DAC given the design and quality: Along with a custom, fully asynchronous USB transceiver and host controller allowing support for up to 24bit/384kHz sample rate audio files, much work was carried out to reduce the effect of power supply and ground noise from the PC entering the DAC-V1. There is no reliance on the 5V line from the USB and its entry into the product ends at the connector. This eliminates power supply noise from the PC entering the product. We have also used components to suppress the noise between the computer ground and DAC-V1 digital ground. Ground lift switch enables use with preamps and existing earth products (ie a CD player) used for preventing ground loops. Do I look at simply using something like the iPurifier2 or Jitterbug type of device just to cleanup the noise before it gets to the DAC and which the DAC seems to handle things nicely once it receives per the above...? Cheers, Vin.
  11. Hello All, Wanted to ask whether anyone has any experience using the iFI Audio iUSB Power with a non USB power based DAC which in my case, is the Naim DAC-V1. I am looking to get the best possible signal into my DAC and thought that the iUSB power would be a good solution, but I am wondering if the iUSB would be wasted on the Naim DAC-V1 as it doesn't utilize the power provided by the USB line and therefore, makes it somewhat redundant. Just wanted to ask if anyone has had any experience using this device with a non USB powered DAC and whether it makes any sense, or should I be simply looking at something like the AQ Jitterbug or iFI iSilencer 3.0 instead. Cheers, Vin.
  12. Hello all - so things are working but I still have some issues with the following: 1) Missing tracks from some albums (even though they all exist in the respective music folder) - How to I get them to list? 2) Audirvana begins to sync at random which takes forever before I can get back to using the application - I would typically have to restart (!) Last but not least, is there a recommendation on how to structure the folders for the music library to operate in a more efficient manner? I am using a Drobo 2nd generation drive which is attached via a USB 3.0 cable. My file structure is as follows which I have added each folder individually to A+ for library syncing: \MP3 Audio \24 Bit Hires Audio \SACD Audio \HDTracks Audio \DSD Audio \Redbook CD \Redbook Vinyl Rips Within these folders, I can have several hundred folders or in some cases, over 1000 folders!!! - So the question I have, is should I group further within each of these folders, or should I simply point A+ to the top level of the Drobo media drive and works its way down from the above 7 folders? Would appreciate any help/pointers on improving my experience with this application, as I had no issues with the library management and performance on my PC using JRiver until I switched over... :-( Cheers, Vin.
  13. Thanks and great suggestion - although I moved over to the Mac platform (from PC running JRiver 21) to have something more robust which does not seem to be the case before I have even been able to play one single song?!?! lol BTW, has anyone added album artwork to SACD ISO albums? My problem started when I was simply trying to add artwork and I got a permission error when trying to save the metadata back with the artwork and then it all went horribly wrong! - Am I doing something that is not possible here...? Thanks in advance....
  14. Hello All, I seem to be experiencing the same issue where Audirvana is crashing when launching on my Mac-Mini using El Capitan OS. I looked for the files mentioned above but not finding them - I don't see anything Audirvana related withing the Library folder as mentioned. Any other ideas/thoughts as to where they may reside? I am using the latest Audirvana 2.5.2 build.... Thanks in advance! Cheers, Vin. UPDATE: Never mind - I was able to get to the folder using the 'Go To Folder...' option - deleted all the files including the library file which was over 1GB in size (yes I have a lot!!!) and now re-syncing again - I guess something got corrupt - hope it doesn't keep happening on me though as it would be a real pain and not worth continuing to use otherwise...
  15. Thanks Richard! I would love to go for something like the Wyerd 4 Sound Dac2 DSD which I know about, but its a little way over my budget as I am still paying for a lot of Vinyl equipment related upgrades this year - just wanted to get something without all the bells and whistles as I have a great sounding DAC already, and am just missing the dedicated DSD piece... Cheers, Vin.
