  1. Sorry to anger you, was not my intent, however, i do understand wattage doesnt only mean volume, and to be quite frank i have experience with amps. Being this is for close field listening and not loud volume, of which would push said amp to the limits you are speaking, i say again i do not need the other amp with its large increase in price. I recieved the items today and have listened to the amp of which it does way more than i need. Anything above 1/3 volume is louder than i can use here as is. And now that i have heard the speakers, i do not believe i need the sub at all so i am dropping it from the setup as the speakers on their own at the volumes i can use them sound perfectly fine and clear. Again, i did not intend to anger you but not all situations are the same, mine i do not need a bigger amp. I just dont need nor will use it at the volumes i can use it. Thank you for trying to help, but i will go other places for information from here out as i dont see a need in this type of treatment from anyone. have a good day and peace.
  2. I guess the sound card is subjective to a point, but do i at least have the right concept on how to hook things up? Should the high level output from the amp go to the sub high level in and use then out from sub to speakers? Will there be any quality loss doing this or should the sub be done with splitters off the low level inputs?
  3. That i wont be doing right now, as i said i want to work with what i have, and to be honest, i dont see a need in tripling the amp price since the only thing im going to gain there is volume, of which i do not need. Most of the time the volume on mjy system never goes above 30ish percent. In fact the only reason for the lepai is it was cheaper to go lepai and dayton books rather than audio engine a2.
  4. This helps as far as headphones go but not so much with the speaker setup. My concern is mainly the difference between the quality of sound from the speaker side. Im not too keen on the Fiio as lately it seems as though it makes the headphones sound harsh. I know the amp isnt supposed to change anything but it seems to me as though it does. The DG sounds rather nice with the headphones but im not so sure its going to mesh with the speakers and especialy with movies and such as the DX does have some vurtual speaker settings which i do like useing from time to time. That being said, the dayton speakers and lepai arrive tommorow, so my listening thus far has been with a set of FPS 2000 digital speakers running analog off the DX and to be honest, they sounded rather junky on the DG. So thats my other delima.
  5. First time posting here, i am just geting into sound quality. So to begin i am a pc user, i watch movies, play games and listne to alot of music. My collection for music is in FLAC and i watch a number of blueray discs on my pc. I currently have both a xonar DG and a xonar DX. I will want to use one of these even though my onboard has dolby home theater because frankly i can hear the difference. I also own a Fiio e6 headphone amp for use with the DX on superlux 668b headphones so the amp portion of the DG is not important to me. I have a lepai 2020A+ and dayton audio bookself speakers. I also have a dayton audio sub. I want to use the bookshelves with the sub for most of my time and when the wife is mopey and doesnt want to hear anything i want to be able to change to headphones without losing sound quality. I know this isnt by any means high high end audio stuff here but its what i have to work with and being a newbie to this, im sure it can work together nicely. What i need are suggestions on which sound card to use for best balance and from that in what ways to hook everything up. Such as do i use the DX with the Fiio on the front panel headphones jack and hook the lepai to the rear out with line level to the sub and then sub to bookshelves. This setup would require charging the e6 during off times but from what i have read and gathered possibly the better audio clarity. Though most are saying thats in 5.1 or 7.1 which i will not be useing. Or do i look at doing the DG since it has the headphone amp, lose the Fiio from the equation, and still how to hook the lepai and the sub and bookshelves? So, there you have it, no i dont want to spend any more money right now, i want to use what i have but optomize it to the best of its potential. Any suggestions would be great. Just fyi, im playing the majority of the media thru JRMC useing Wasapi because sometimes i like to use the dolby effects, which ASIO does not permit me to do.
