  1. Thanks. What benefit does Minimserver bring compared to the Synology software? I haven’t had any issues with it so far. Many thanks
  2. I currently have my music files (FLAC) saved on an older Synology NAS. When I play my music files, I use the Heos app on my iPad and play the files through my Marantz PM7000N amp. Unless I am playing records, most music I stream plays from Amazon Music But I do have a number of FLAC files not available on Amazon. I also have a MAC desktop computer in my office which doesn’t get used a lot. I was wondering whether to put the music files on the MAC and use it as a DNLA server instead of the Synology. Presumably I could set it so that the screen switches off after a few minutes and the computer wakes on LAN or switches to a sleep mode after a people of not streaming. Are there any benefits in changing to the MAC instead of the Synology and also what software should I put on the MAC? I’ve seen JRiver and Twonky mentioned. Any help greatly appreciated
  3. I have been using the remote app on my ipad to control itunes in integration mode with A+. I stupidly upgraded to itunes 11.0.3 and now the remote doesn't work as well as it did. In particular, the ability to use the remote slide to select a different part of a track no longer works and the |<< button only works intermitently. I upgraded to A+ 1.4.9.9 and the problem still exists. Thanks Apple!! Is there any chance you could look into this, please Damien? Many thanks Peter
  4. If your AIFF files are all 16 bit, I think the maths is 460GB x 256 / 1411 = less than 85GB, if you use 256kbps AAC files (assuming you don't use variable bit rate). apologies if I am wrong. Kind regards Peter

    Audirvana 1.4

I'm just trying the demo version of Audirvana Plus on my Mac Mini and Musical Fidelity V-Dac II combo linked to iTunes and am pleased with the sound so far. At the moment I am using iTunes created AAC files (320kbps) but have noticed that Audirvana seems to have two attempts at playing some tracks - they start for about half a second or so, stop and then start again, playing properly. Is there some setting I need to change? Any help greatly appreciated. Cheers Peter
  6. Have you tried relabelling the input you are using on your TV to PC? I know that sounds irrelevant but apparently on some Sansung TV's this also changes some internal settings and sorts out picture issues from Mac Minis. (I fell across this information whilst looking for tips whilst setting up my Mac Mini with my Panasonic Plasma TV). I hope that helps. Peter
