  1. Disregard! I have just been a fool and connected the left channel RCA to the Coax digital input!!! The Young is sat on top of my M-DAC at the minute, the M-DAC's RCA outputs are fairly wide apart. With the right channel of the M-DAC in line with the the right channel of the Young's; the left channel is almost perfectly in line with the Coax input! Hence I have removed from the M-DAC and connected back up incorrectly! Clown!
  2. Heard of this problem before Keith? I've done a quick google search but found nothing.
  3. I don't believe it! Now the left channel has gone down! I listened to it for a few hours when I finally got it working, all was fine. I then listened to some vinyl and now back to the DAC with music only coming from the right speaker!?
  4. Thanks for the info Matt. I find it a little bit bizarre there's so much difference from 1 program to another. I'm a complete novice with computer audio though, I've done it for ease, simplicity (not including the M2Tech problems!!) and to free up space. I'll have a look at the programs you mention and see what I think. I have a handfull of SACD's, is it possible to play these with any of these programs?
  5. Is Audirvana Plus regarded as one of the best software programs? I'm only using iTunes at the minute. I do have great separation between the instruments already provided by my Croft Micro 25 pre amp.
  6. Thank you! I don't believe this but all I had to do was turn everything off, disconnect the cable USB cable, reconnect it and turn it back on then boom - there it was, good to go. This has been an absolute pain in the bum for hours and hours.
  7. I've opened up the Console but I have no idea what any of that information in there means! It's all gobbledegook to me! I do remember reading in the manual something about the order in which things should be carried out though - with regard to the connecting and turning on of the unit. It didn't specify which order should be used if I remember correctly, only to experiment to see which one worked. I guess I will have to have a play around.
  8. Same thing happened again. That second post was supposed to be two paragraphs. Perhaps it's the outdated version of IE I'm using on the works computer.
  9. That will at least help diagnose whether there's a problem with the DAC. I may not be able to try another computer over the weekend but next week shouldn't be a problem. How did you make paragraphs in your post? I thought I had made paragraphs in my first post but when it was posted on the thread all my sentences had been stuck back together as one paragraph.
  10. Hello guys, my current problem has brought me to this forum. Basically I can not get my Macbook to work with my DAC!I've installed, uninstalled and re-installed the driver from the M2Tech website several times, yet I've had no success in finding the M2Tech in either Audio Midi or the Sound tab under Preferences. Any suggestions? To confirm that it's neither a faulty cable or USB output, I connected my Audiolab M-DAC to the Macbook and it is displayed straight away in Audio Midi and the Sound tab. I've had some help over on PFM but I still haven't made any progress. The M2Tech is second hand, it works fine through optical. My MacBook Pro is 2009 and running the latest version of Snow Leopard.
