  1. I use an Apple Airport Extreme router (latest ac version), a Synology NAS and just use the built-in Synology media server. Have you spoken to the guys at Renaissance Audio (as you are UK based) I have always found them to be extremely helpful?
  2. Mine has been working perfectly since I worked out that I needed to update the firmware as well as the app. Just follow the firmware update instructions on the website. I did do a factory reset on mine and uninstalled the app before starting from scratch though. Hope this helps!
  3. I run mine off a spare outlet on my Bel Canto VBS1. Seems to work fine, I obviously checked voltage and current were the same as the supplied walwart!
  4. I have managed to correct mine now using the advice from The UK distributor. What worked for me was turning off the MiND 180, then deleting the app completely from all my iOS devices. You then need to update the software on the MiND, but do it connected directly to your router, don't try and do it wirelessly. Once the MiND is updated, then re-install the app and it all should work. You will know if the software update has worked because you will now be able to scroll through tracks.
  5. Have any Moon MiND users downloaded the latest controller app for iOS? Did this Friday and am having endless problems to the extent that the streamer no longer works! Anybody else with similar issues?
  6. Mine does exactly the same, see screenshot below. The artwork is obviously seen by the media server as it shows in the track currently playing box but there is something obviously missing where the dotted outline is and no genre information!
  7. I have been able to stream 24/48 and 24/96 files wirelessly over my airport network to the MiND. 24/192 was a step too far and buffers every few seconds. I will try hard wired as soon as I can work out how to get a cat6 cable to my lounge!
  8. I have a MiND 180 and have been powering it with one of the spare outputs from my Bel Canto VBS1. I already had the VBS1 so it was worth the cost of an extra standard Bel Canto cable, which has the correct connector for the MiND. This was done obviously after careful comparison of the voltage, current and polarity of the MiND power supply compared to the VBS1 (they pretty much exactly match).
  9. Early on I made the decision to keep the main music library on the NAS and keep this totally divorced from iTunes. The NAS library originally comprised AIFF files ripped with iTunes and FLAC downloads. Since I got the Moon I have switched over to using uncompressed FLAC so any new cd's are ripped to FLAC with XLD on the iMac. Therefore the NAS library is a mix of AIFF and FLAC. I do have an iTunes library (solely for moving music to the various iDevices we have) but I keep this as a local library on the iMAC. This library is composed of Apple Lossless files created from the NAS library's AIFF and FLAC files using XLD. I have never had a problem with missing tags or artwork on the Moon streamer, the only missing tags I have are Album Artist ones from the downloaded albums, although these would be relatively easy to add at some point. The one thing I did with album artwork though was to never let iTunes automatically add the artwork. I always added the artwork manually after ripping by finding a good 500 x 500 image from Google and copying this into the files (select all files for a particular album in iTunes, right click and hit "Get Info", go to the "artwork" tab and simply drag the image into the blank square - at least that is how you do it on Mac!). I also keep a copy of the album artwork in the album folder renamed as folder.jpg (mainly for the sonos which also accesses the NAS library). Cheers.
  10. Hi My first post here also! I have a Moon 180 MiND in my set up, files are served to it exclusively from a Synology NAS using the in built Synology media server. With the latest ios app this will play all my AIFF (from iTunes and dbpoweramp) and FLAC (up to 24/192) without problem. When originally released the streamer would not play AIFF but this was addressed with an app update earlier this year. The UK distributor have been excellent in supporting my initial teething problems and the streamer seems to be very stable functionally. Hope this helps. Rich
