View Classified Aqua Acoustics Formula xHD Rev.2 Optologic DAC $17,500 USD new, conservatively rated 8/10 due to 4 small black imprints from the matching LinQ's rubber footers and for one mark on the cover that's hard to see unless you're very close to the DAC. I'm the original owner and it took me years to find a better DAC that cost almost twice the price to better it. I sent the Formula to Aqua for a checkup and it's all good to go. Also, when sent for the xHD upgrade I had Aqua install a Synergistic Research Blue fuse, the best at the time. It will ship in the original double box. At my asking price, free shipping to CONUS. Please, no low-ball offers. Seller sb6 Date 12/20/23 Price 8,200.00 USD Category Digital to Analog Converters

I wonder if there is someone knowledgable in Linux and WINE who can assist.

Bourbon, certainly. ;-) -
Late to the game, however, great information, thanks. I think the biggest challenge with Atmos for the majority 2 - channel audiophiles is - we are always looking for better sonics which costs more and more $$, so the question then is - is it worth it to invest in a multi - channel system which, for the same budget as 2 - channel will be compromised in quality (e.g: 5 speakers vs. 2 speakers with the same budget) to be able to play Atmos? To appeal to the mainstream audiophile (oxymoron? :-) ) market, I think you'd need much more content available and even then, it may be somewhat cost prohibitive.

Late to the game but thought I'd share my ongoing experiences with ROON and HQP. As some have said, my experience is - the less of ROON (versus HQP) that's employed the better the sound quality. And over the years I've also realized that the better my system's ability to resolve along with the more optimal the room setup / sweet spot is, the more of a delta between ROON and HQP there is. In addition, I've found that even while implementing ROON as the front end with HQP receiving and playing to my streamer where one would think there'd be minimal if any impact, the difference in SQ depends on the ROON update. For the past ~6 months the delta seemed to shrink with ROON + HQP versus HQP solo (with HQP having the slight edge in SQ) but with the latest update the delta is considerably more noticeable. This makes me appreciate HQP with HQPClient including streaming. Also, I have A-B-A'd several times to 2x confirm my ears and every time I'm able to discern the different with 100% success rate. So for me, in my system I appreciate the ROON GUI and the ability to select Favorites, bookmarks, etc., but for the ultimate listening experience I go the HQP solo. YMMV.

That's a shame as arguably (and likely statistically) the predominant tablet device is the iPad. -

Great to hear about this. Using HQP Client streaming Qobuz and sounds great. is it possible to install HQP desktop to an iPad? -

Thanks! And I love those doorstops to minimize chassis vibrations. I use Jeweler's blocks but I like the look of yours much better. -
What system would you buy if you had unlimited resources.?

Cost no object but limited to my audio room? That puts a damper on speaker size for sure even though my room is dedicated and about 17 1/2 x 19 x 9', decent size. I would probably go Magico M6 or Borreson Z5 cryos speakers. Amps and preamp - I'd upgrade to Audionet Scientist series Stern and Heisenberg preamp and mono blocks or CH Precision 10 series preamp and mono blocks. For a source - TechDas turntable, Studer A820 R2R with all the fixings (external preamp, etc.) and for digital - probably the MSB Select DAC. Also a full compliment of Magico subwoofers x 6 (2 stacks of 3). Some day in a bigger room ;-) -
