  1. For sale is Grandinote Volta DAC / STREAMER mk2 version with box. 220-240V version, but can be rewired to 115vac operation. This device received 143 point rating in germany Audio-Stereoplay magazine. This is level of Esoteric K01XD, MSB stack or Luxman D10X CD players. This streamer sounds almost like a great analog rig and waaay better than my CEC TL2N + DA-SL combo. I got it as part of trade and dont use it (i dont play fles at all). If Auralic, DCS Rossini or Mola mola Tambaqui are too natural for you and you search for more warmer, smoother, tube/analog like timbre close to good old IDLER drive turntables or reel to reel tapes - buy your self this VOLTA. To keep it simple - IMO Volta is similar in sound to Rockna Wavedream NET + Wavedream Signature DAC combo, but still sounds more lush, warmer, closer to the listener with more punch and grip. I prefer it by small margin over rockna stack. 4500 EUR shipped worldwide. no negotiations

  5. I do have a question to people more familiar with MC3+ features: I do own CEC TL2N CD transport which has 44.1khz word clock input. CEC has also an option to upsample native format up to 88khz. I have connected CEC to MUTEC via AES/EBU cable and I reclock the incoming signal and send it via COAX to my DAC. Same time, MUTEC is suppling 44.1khz word clock input signal to my DAC. ALL works well until I want to upsample 44.1khz data on CEC to lets say 88khz. When I do that, then CEC lose the Word Clock connection with MUTEC. On the other hand. When I just supply word clock 44khz from mutec to CEC and I connect CEC directly to my DAC, then I can upsample the signal and MUTEC does not lose the word clock connection with CEC. Does anyone know if MUTEC is able to: 1. provide 44.1khz word clock signal to CEC and keep connection tight 2. receive upsampled digital signal 88khz 3. send it to DAC simultaneously

  7. few questions to you Gents, 1. Which APACER RAM is recommended for Intel Z390 motherboard? AFAIK this MB does not support ECC ram. 2. When using Qobuz or Tidal on Euphony, is it possible to fix that Euphony will play only 24/96 tracks from these services? I dont want Euphony to play 16/44 or very high res from streaming services. I would like it to be fixed on 24/96 is it doable? 3. E-PCM upsampling - there is a field "quality" and range from 0 to 3. This range means higher = better, or just different taste?
  8. does anyone know if PinkFaun SPDIF bridge will work with Euphony OS and intel z390 based machine?

  10. I had singxer sda6 pro and liked it, I must say that for the money and if you are searchinf for a delta/sigma dac - this singxer was a good choice. I liked it more than Topping D90. At the same time I had also DCS Bartok, Chord Dave and Rockna Wavedream signature. I purchased Rockna, but Loved Dave as well. DCS was not my cup of tea and I would prefer Singxer to it :)
  11. Its diffucult to compare as overall the tests were done 6y ago , in speaker crossover in woofer section. To make long story short - low frequecies were strong, punchy, amazing dynamic, precise, with great control of the speaker. This is typical behaviour of high quality thick solid core wire (and such one is used in mundorf). Unfortunately woofer was also influencing midgrade heavily and here we need the coil to offer colorful, rich, warm, high resololution sound. At the end we used 8AWG Jantzen Wax speaker coil for woofer instead of Mundorf, as we prefered rich sound in the midrange and good (but not perfect) bass. As said, these tests were done in speaker, not in audio PC PSU :), also, remember that for PSU you need very low DCR (low resistance). 0,3R is the maximum which I would use in PSU If someone would force me to use choke.
  12. someone who wants to go extreme, can check Mundorf zero-ohm inductors: https://www.mundorf.com/audio/en/shop/coils/MCoil-VN390-Zero-Ohm-Coil/?shop_category=&card=2990&var=true They are perfectly fine to be used in PSU, altough I tried them in speaker crossover years ago. BASS was out of this world :), but overall I highly prefer wax copper foil coils from Jantzen (Polink Poland).

      Hello :)

Thank you and I wish you all the best. I didnt heard NAT, but I am familiar with this brand. They make good looking stuff still pretty reasonably priced.

Good SE tube amp is very, very, very... hard to beat.

  14. They are different in presentation. Phaethon is delicate, subtle, it is voiced to be very high resolution oriented, but lacks body, warmth and power. I still liked Phaethon more than shitty Air Tight ATM-211 tube monos I had before, but if we speak about Circle Labs - for me - they are simply amazing. Speaker drive ability which I never experienced before, combined with warmth, body, constant foot tapping :), energy, high resolution. All I can dream off. Imagine yourself a really great sounding tube amp with almost unlimited power, zero distortion and without the need to replace tubes. wholeheartedly recomended. I dont want to make more offtopic, so If you have other questions please send me PM
  15. tube rectifier PSU for high A current? Can you please share more details about the design? I ask as regular tubes in full wave rectifier mode can offer 300mA of constant current. If you use four tubes in greatz mode you can get around 1-1.5A max, but for PC audio use you probably need 5A minimum.
